Hopefully they are both due for an off game.

It's possible. But then what's the pass rush going to be like? If the Smith Brothers crash in the sides and Clark puts pressure up the middle, it will lessen Metcalf's chances.

Its funny how on other teams, first year receivers can make contributions. Perhaps we set the bar too low.

Metcalf should have been a top 10 overall selected player, if not for his injury concerns where with a neck injury he basically missed a year. I thought Packers might take him with their top pick if he was considered healthy.

Gonna be hard to stop their turn and chase Wilson down with speed WRs.

I honestly might just try to put Z and Clark in the middle all game and make them go outside and have some outside speed rushs.

Heck, the last time I remember a rookie WR making an immediate impact on the offense was Randall Cobb and Greg Jennings before that. Jones, Nelson, and Adams all scrapped their way up from the bottom of the totem pole--though in Thompson's day, if we drafted you, you were basically a shoo-in to make the team.

Going back to Metcalf, the main reason I didn't like him was because he simply seemed like a workout warrior. Vernon Davis, even at TE, was comparable and he was injury prone his first few years. I thought Metcalf would turn out the same way.

Going back to him being an X-Factor in Seattle, yep, I believe it. But I also think he's somebody Kevin King can handle, because of them fell in the draft for the exact same reasons.

dfosterf (19-Apr) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
