I wouldn't mind this kid. I think he's got one helluva an arm. What do you know about him? Anything?

Saw him at the Senior Bowl and thought he was really good. I just don't know if the timing is right, but if our scouts think he can be a franchise QB I think it makes a lot of sense. Aaron may want to play in his 40's, but father time may not grant him that wish.

I think he's the one QB that both, MIGHT drop to the Packers and MIGHT be worth a 1st round selection.

But the only reason that he MIGHT be both of those is because there is a lot of good and a lot of bad in his film.

And I'm recent history (especially under Thompson, a little less so under Gute, but still pretty high) Packers have used this pre-draft time to meet with players that have clear questions about them, from I'm field stuff, to off field and everywhere in between.

So the fact that Packers are talking with a kid that has very mixed tape is totally expected.

But I believe QB Love has had 3 different offensive coordinators in a college career, and looked pretty darn good two years ago, but then the coaches, the scheme and a lot of starting players graduating, had everything change on him and he was very shakey and trying to do too much and make throws he shouldn't of been trying to make.

In the right scheme, some think he could be potentially be very very good... but he could also bust.

I'd love to take a shot on Love but from what I've been hearing is he'll be gone much higher than where the packers are picking.

Just another guy I know nothing about.
But if the brass see he might be “the guy” and he’s still around, why not?

I’ll be pissed if we use a 1st or 2nd round pick on him. Or any QB for that matter. We have the opportunity to win right now, we just lack a few pieces. Go for those pieces.

As I have stated before I believe and thought we should have moved on already from Rodgers. The injuries have taken its toll on him, I don't think he has the arm strength anymore and lost his accuracy. He was once deadly on the deep ball but now he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I am thinking of maybe a Jake Fromm or even a Jalen Hurts in the 3rd round. I really don't see any QB that is jumping off the charts. Maybe the kid from LSU but the Alabama QB has me confused, he's got a bum hip he just had surgery on and had great players around him. I honestly can't even think of a qb from Alabama worth a 1st round pick.

So get rid of Rodgers for a Jalen Hurts? Geez that’s a low blow. Talk about not hitting the broad side of a barn. Rodgers is still one of the stronger arms in the league.

I agree with you. Look at all the QBs in the league today. Rodgers is STILL better then most of them. It amazes me how some people write him off like he’s terrible.
When he does leave, whether by going to a different team or retirement, some of our members are going to be dealt a hand of reality. The chance of getting a third straight great QB is close to nothing. Look at how many teams have been searching year after year, only to STILL not have a guy HALF as good as Aaron Rodgers.
How many QBs have the Lions, Vikings and Bears gone through since 1992? How many QBs have we had, other than when Rodgers got knocked out with the broken collarbone?
But yeah....dump Rodgers from some wet behind the ears college boy.
Yes, some day in the not so distant future, we will have to face the future without a HOF QB. I’m not in such a hurry as some seem to be.

Exactly. It makes absolutely no sense. Like not even a little bit of sense.

Look, if the Packers feel the best player available at 30 is a clearly a QB, I'm all down for taking that QB. But, I am not wanting a QB taken to replace Rodgers in 2020. The guy isn't who he was in 2010, no kidding, who is? That being said, he still makes a shit ton of throws that maybe a handful of players in the entire world can make. Do I hate his footwork? Yes, but it works. Do I hate how he misses (what is obvious to me sitting in my comfy chair) open guys shallow for taking deep shots or getting sacked? Yes.

I am in agreement the Packers need to start thinking about the QB for the future. I just don't think that future is 2020. If Packers can add just one more threat at WR, this team is going to fuck people up. Rodgers made Allen Lazard look serviceable for christ sake. Rodgers has 2 maybe 3 years before the keys need to be handed to someone else. And that's assuming he continues a decline and assumes we have someone that is better than he currently (assuming it's 2022 here) playing with a higher ceiling.

I disagree. I think fans will blame the Packers organization for not finding a suitable replacement while citing even they "knew Rodgers was declining for years, how could the Packers not see this too???". If you doubt this, check any Packers group, chat or anything where fans spout off. You will see they want teams to have starters, and I mean All-Pro starters sitting on the bench while Hall of Famers are on the field. It's absolutely unrealistic.

Fans won't be happy with the Packers QB situation unless they have Patrick Mahomes, Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson all on the same roster. Why? Because QB is the most important position so you need three!!!

You disagree? What you wrote is what I was saying.
Fans will be dealt a hand of reality.
They might ignore it, and blame the Packers, but the hand will be layed out for all to see. Denial might be there, but it won’t change the facts.
Think the fans of the Lions, Bears and Vikings don’t blame their team leaders for blowing it year after year? Not getting a decent QB?
We have been very fortunate. Younger people haven’t had to endure what us older fans did. Twenty years of futility. They may have to live through that once Aaron Rodgers is gone.

I misunderstood your comment about fans being forced to deal with reality. I was saying they won't realize the reality and will instead fault the Packers organization for not finding an the next Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre.

Yup Zero!
We are on the same page!😁

It’s SO hard to find a QB that can play at such a high level in the NFL.
For 28 years we have been able to have a realistic hope of “our” Packers winning more then losing, and making the playoffs more times then not. Through the 1970s and 80s we made the playoffs ONCE.
And didn’t go far.
Just beating the hated Bears once in a season, and we considered it a “good” season.
I remember when we finally made the playoffs when Favre came here. I was thrilled that I got to see my team for one more game.
Now, that’s not enough anymore. Expectations have gone up with the win totals.

Zero2Cool (25-May) : The irony lol....
Nonstopdrivel (23-May) : Agreed. I love doing research. I submitted a paper to a journal a couple of days ago. Fingers crossed that it gets accepted.
Zero2Cool (20-May) : Research projects can be tons of fun!
Nonstopdrivel (20-May) : I don't have any hospital responsibilities, just the endless onboarding process. I'm working on some research projects too.
TheKanataThrilla (18-May) : Is it vacation now NSD or do you still have hospital responsibilities?
Nonstopdrivel (16-May) : I'll be moving to Myrtle Beach in June.
TheKanataThrilla (16-May) : Congrats NSD. When are you moving?
Nonstopdrivel (15-May) : And thank you, everyone. Your kind words are much appreciated. It's been a long, long, long time in coming.
Nonstopdrivel (15-May) : Except that I'll be getting me Lombardi Trophy in the mail in a few weeks (Delayed by the idiotic coronavirus pan(Dem)ic, of course.
Cheesey (15-May) : Congrats NSD! I’m sorry u had to watch from home. Must feel like having a ticket to the super bowl, and watching on TV instead
yooperfan (14-May) : Congratulations NSD!

Cheesey (14-May) : My favorite position on the Packers is the PUNter!😝
Cheesey (14-May) : Does that mean I should be PUNished?🤪
Nonstopdrivel (12-May) : I'd say most of your puns recently have been more of a stretch than string cheese, but Nostridamus was a masterpiece. I wouldn't nominate it for a Pullitzer anyway.
Cheesey (12-May) : LOL Wayne! I appreciate your comment. You and Non made me feel my “cheesiness” is still worth something here.
wpr (12-May) : I will apologize Cheesey. I saw it and considered it to be the typical cheese spread. I failed to recognize the masterpiece of pun it truly is. mea culpa
Cheesey (12-May) : Nonstop, I honestly wondered if anyone would get it! And you probably were the only one! Good job!🤪
Nonstopdrivel (11-May) : "Nostridamus" -- that might be your best pun yet, not least because it took me almost an entire day to get it.
Cheesey (11-May) : Wayne...is she gonna keep YOU?😂
Cheesey (11-May) : Nostridamis told me that Booger was being released....from the end of my finger!😁
wpr (10-May) : last December. I think I'll keep her.
wpr (10-May) : Today's Mother's Day. My wife can watch whatever she wants. What was on our tv? Pride and Prejudice? Sense and Sensibility? Something on Hallmark Chanel? Nope. Star Trek, Dr Who and now Packers-Bears
Zero2Cool (10-May) : Both guys on MNF are replaced.
KRK (10-May) : Seriously, IMO he was excellent in the role he was in the previous year
KRK (10-May) : To be fair to the guy it snot all his fault.
Cheesey (10-May) : No “Booger?” I heard he was hand picked!😂
Nonstopdrivel (10-May) : Booger McFarland won't be back in the MNF booth this year. And there is much rejoicing.
Nonstopdrivel (10-May) : Happy Mothers Day to our resident Kevins: Zero2Cool and KRK.
Nonstopdrivel (10-May) : Nah, my record is squeaky clean. It's just a reminder of better times and bad mistakes.
KRK (10-May) : NSD, when you have a history of crime, it can't be easy :-)
beast (9-May) : A link to it on twitter
Nonstopdrivel (9-May) : Filling out background check applications is so fucking depressing.
KRK (9-May) : Beast, where did you see that...re Watson/Bears.
beast (9-May) : And PFT pulls back information from before his draft (including his own words), to suggest Watson might currently be mistaken.
beast (9-May) : Deshaun Watson tweets "The bears NEVER ONCE talked to me.." when aruging against the Bears evaluating him... on a discussion about teams choicing QB based on race.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Yup. Make it like week 11 or something. Have some Hall of Fame induction thing or something.
Nonstopdrivel (8-May) : I would rather the entire league took off the same week.
Cheesey (8-May) : I don’t like it either, Zero. But there’s not much we can do about it.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : It'd be more important if the BYE was later. I don't like how the NFL does their BYE weeks.
Smokey (8-May) : Week 5 Bye as important as a game !
Zero2Cool (7-May) : And now it's being said Vikings week 1 vs Packers.
