Two players, linebacker Curtis Bolton  and offensive tackle Yosh Nijman , ended the 2019 season on injured reserve with injuries. Those two will start training camp on the active/Physically Unable to Perform list, making them eligible for the PUP list when the regular season comes around.
Bolton tore his ACL in the preseason a year ago, the latest in a long line of injuries for the former Oklahoma linebacker. He impressed in the first two-plus preseason games, but was lost in week three of the exhibition slate when the Packers played the Oakland Raiders  on a questionable field in Winnipeg. Nijman ended up on injured reserve late in the season with an elbow injury after starting the year on the practice squad and earning a midseason call-up to the active roster.
These two players are joined on an injury list by a pair of rookies whose final college seasons were also cut short by injury. Simon Stepaniak , one of the Packers’ sixth-round offensive line draft picks, tore his ACL during draft practices and will likely miss much of the 2020 season. He will start camp with a Non-Football Injury designation, given to players whose injuries did not result from NFL practices or games.
Likewise, undrafted rookie running back Patrick Taylor from Memphis suffered foot and ankle injuries as a senior. He played through them to participate in Memphis’ bowl game, but the issues are evidently still affecting him.
Like the PUP players, giving these players an NFI designation allows the team to place them on the regular-season reserve/NFI list should they be unable to start the season healthy. These designations keep them on the 90-man roster for the time being.

No one really critical for the season.

No, but guys that might of helped, if they could of developed over the off-season (but probably couldn't, as they were injured).

Bolton looked like our best coverage LB until he was injured, then it was Burks. Now it's Burks or Kirksey, but if they decide to play Kirksey at the physical LB role, could be lots of Safety playing LB again.

Packers are currently quite thin at OT, and the prospect with the most raw potential is Yosh Nijman, as he's a large freak athlete, who was so incredibly raw that he went completely undrafted. He needs development time.

Simon Stepaniak kept suggesting that his Doctor said he'd be back to full go by mid-July, and I kept quietly thinking bullshit. Reportedly an ACL tear around new years and those things usually take minimum 9 months, but sometimes guys don't start moving normal for a year and a half. So I've been thinking he starts off on the PUP list and they try to bring him back mid-year or IR him.

RB Patrick Taylor, I don't think he has a shot to make the roster this year, but he's one of my favorites of this year's undrafted free agents. If he can stick around a year, he might have a shot next year as Jones, Williams and Irvin are FAs.

You are correct. I was merely simplifying my comments.

I don't know what Bolton is going to bring to the team. LB is such a weak position almost anyone will be an upgrade.

The key word for Nijman is raw. It won't matter one iota if he is on the PUP or not. He needs time. Lots and lots of time. Ideally it is better for him to be on the practice field but this is not a normal year. Long run he is destined for the PS this year. Running him through PUP first doesn't change much.

When they drafted Stepaniak I think they knew he would end up on PUP and then IR.

Taylor is Taylor. Barring an injury there wasn't going to be room for him on the 53 roster this season.

Smokey (5m) : ... and the band played on.
Mucky Tundra (5m) : after those two I think it's gonna be a long time before see another RB stick around as long as those two, esp with a similar workload
Zero2Cool (11m) : Cowboys win. unreal.
TheKanataThrilla (14m) : WTF Falcons?
TheKanataThrilla (17m) : It is amazing that a RB can play that long. Gore and Peterson are amazing in their longevity in probably the toughest position in the NFL in terms of health
Mucky Tundra (22m) : Frank Gore, who fell to the 3rd round in the 2004 draft due to durability concerns, will play in his 228th game. That's a new record for RBs

Zero2Cool (4h) : @RobDemovsky Based on warmups, it would appear the Packers are going with Rick Wagner at right tackle and Lucas Patrick at right guard. Billy Turner might just be available in an emergency.

Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : Lions DT Nick Williams (shoulder) has been downgraded to OUT for Sunday’s game at Green Bay.
Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : So, Franchise Tag Bakhtiari. Hope for long term deal. Trade one of the smith's because Gary makes them expendable. Boom. Roster management is easy! 😁🤔☺️
beast (19-Sep) : After Clark resigned, the big ones are Bak, Jones, Linsley and King
Zero2Cool (19-Sep) : Do we have any other player needing a contract?
TheKanataThrilla (19-Sep) : Wondering if we Franchise Bakh for a year and then release him? I can't see a long term deal.
Zero2Cool (18-Sep) : LT David bakhtiari wants more than Tunsil. So he's gone.
Zero2Cool (18-Sep) : Packers game status report vs. Lions: Out: DL Kenny Clark, WR Equanimeous St. Brown, OLB Randy Ramsey Questionable: TE Josiah Deguara, OL Billy Turner, S Raven Greene, DL Montravius Adams, OL Lucas

Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : Saints drafted a guy after trading with Packers. How's that guy doing?
beast (14-Sep) : Last year the Packers released Lazard and he became our 2nd best WR, this year release Barnes and he might be our 2nd best ILB.
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : Saints WR Michael Thomas might miss our week three game with high ankle sprain.
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : Packers OL Lucas Patrick, who started yesterday’s opener at left guard before leaving with a shoulder injury, got good news on his tests and should be probable to play next week, source said.
yooperfan (14-Sep) : Perhaps Barnes will get more playing time and turn into the ILB that we’re looking for.
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : @zachkruse2 UDFA ILB Krys Barnes was the Packers' highest-graded defensive player at @PFF in Week 1.
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : For some reason, I thought Cardinals beat 49ers twice last year, so I picked Cardinals yesterday.
beast (14-Sep) : 49ers defense has always struggled against mobile QBs, Cards and Hawks in the division can give them hell, and Cards have a ton of offensive weapons, tons of WRs.
Cheesey (14-Sep) : Me too Zero! I actually went to the Packers/Cowboys NFC title game in Dallas in 96. The plane ride home was awful. I hate the Plowboys!
Zero2Cool (14-Sep) : Fake noise is the lose. I want real audio. I wanna hear the coaches complain about a dumb play. I wanna hear the players talking shit. :-)
