Okay, let's talk common sense, shall we? WE SHALL!

I have been reading a lot of Packers fans saying we should get WR Corey Davis in the Aaron Rodgers trade.

NO!

Listen, if you see someone walking something to the curb, you don't run up to them and offer compensation for the item, do you? Hell nah! You wait for the item to be left at the curb, you take a peak up and down the street and casually walk over and snag that shit.

The notion that the Jets need the salary cap space and will package him in the trade is nonsense. If the Jets offer Davis in the trade, I say no, and then I say you toss in a 6th round pick in Davis' place. I'll take my chances of securing him via free agency. And if he gets a big deal somewhere else, or just goes somewhere else, so be it.

What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I think I'm a freaking genius negotiator here!

Edit, holy balls, here's another one. The swapping of 13 and 15 makes no sense for Packers. That's basically a 3rd round or 4th round pick. Give me the pick instead of moving up two measly spots. Anyway, this is about Corey Davis. So, no on the Corey Davis, no one the round one swap, instead, give me a 4th round pick (because I fear Packers using 3rd round picks)

I like the idea of adding WR Corey Davis as a Lazard replacement and Davis has had a year with LaFleaur when both where on the Titans.

But why would the Jets be giving a good player up?

Only reason I see is his remaining contract of one year, $10.5 million. If the Packers aren't going to keep Lazard (signed at $11 million per year) nor Tonyan (signed at $2.65 million per year), then I don't think we want a $10.5 million WR that has been only gets about 500 yards per year.

I feel like the Packers are rebuilding and would only be interested in those early on rookie contracts, but Jets wouldn't want to give those up if they're any good. So draft picks would be more likely.

Allen Lazard benefit for this offense was his blocking and threat of being a good blocker. Numerous times we saw him angling to block, only to give a shove and that's how he got open a lot of times. Is Corey Davis a good blocker?

The Jets (reportedly) want the salary cap relief, plus have other WR's in their stable. Garrett Wilson, Mecole Hardman, Allen Lazard, and even Denzel Mims. Plus, they're pursuing Odell Beckham Jr, so where does a $10 million WR fit in here? He doesn't. He's going to be released or traded for a day three pick (5th or 6th) pick to a team with lots of cap space. That's why I think the Jets would be willing to give up a good player. Honestly, I don't even know if Corey Davis is good so I'm just going with what others have spoken.

It should be said too that if Corey Davis is traded, the new team can work out a better salary cap friendly deal. At least, that is my assumption.

Davis is well known as a physical receiver.

You can read more about it here.
Quote:

The drop-off in the passing game has been clear as day to anyone who watched the Jets over the last three games. Mims simply is nowhere close to Davis as a receiving weapon.

But the Jets are also badly missing Davis in the running game.

Corey Davis’ run-blocking is an integral cog in the New York Jets’ offenseDavis is a blocking extraordinaire at the wide receiver position. With his combination of size, strength, understanding of angles, and sheer will, Davis creates running lanes to a degree that few NFL wideouts can match. New York’s run game has been shockingly dependent on Davis’s presence. It’s odd to say that about a wide receiver, but the numbers back it up.

  • Corey Davis on field: 111 carries for 575 yards (5.18 YPC)
  • Corey Davis off field: 109 carries for 426 yards (3.91 YPC)

The Jets are averaging 5.18 YPC with Davis on the field and 3.91 YPC with him off, a margin of 1.27. That is a monumental difference. For perspective, that is similar to the difference between the Jacksonville Jaguars’ fourth-ranked rushing efficiency (5.08 YPC) and the Cincinnati Bengals’ 29th-ranked rushing efficiency (3.87 YPC).

I agree with your assumption.

That being said, if the Jets are going to get rid of him, Packers could ask for permission to talk and negotiate with him before the Jets release him. Since none of his $10.5 million is guaranteed... offer him a $6 million guaranteed contract or something.

Though, the Jets might want to consider keeping both Davis and Lazard, having two elite blocking WRs, makes it harder for teams to know which direction the tough blocking.might be coming.from, or put them together and run a WR screen behind them with the speed WR they just signed from KC.

But I agree, draft pick is more likely and better. But getting Davis wouldn't be the worst thing in the world and I believe he put up 1,000 yards with LaFleaur on the Titans.

It kind of depends on what the item being walked to the curb is. If it's something that is going in the shed, go ahead and grab it, but I like to knock on the door and ask permission. If, on the other hand, it is an item that has the potential of crossing the threshold of the home itself, an important step was left out of the entire picking trash off the curb process.

I don't have the cojones to walk someone else's trash into my home without pre-authorization from my wife. This may seem like a quibble to most of you. but at least in my experience, the interior of the home is largely controlled by the lady of the house.

Just an aside to assist my fellow or potential contemporaries in the quest for harmony in the matrimonial abode. I once tried to sneak a can opener into the silverware drawer that I bought at a yard sale. It was still attached to the cardboard retail backing, but it had a yard sale price tag on it. You would have thought I had carted in a wheel barrel full of toxic sludge into "her" kitchen, based on the feedback I got about this purchase. 😀
Oh, and one more... Don't even THINK of using a metal spatula in a Teflon pan...They are always watching...you've been warned.

Try switching to "source" view when copy/paste. The CKEditor is horseshit. That's harsh, but I hate things that do not behave consistently.

go.pack.go. (1h) : Price will depend on how big the tree is, liability that it includes such as threatening a house, building, fence, etc
go.pack.go. (1h) : I am a procurement forester but I help with tree work on the side from time to time. Learned all about it in college and whatnot
go.pack.go. (1h) : No more tree of course
go.pack.go. (1h) : Tree removal is very expensive, and yes tree companies should remove the tree from your property all together and leave your place looking as if they weren’t even there. Except for there being no more
Zero2Cool (3h) : I wasn't expecting it to be cheap. I was thinking the three in front maybe ~1,500 but i could buy a stump grinder for that.
dfosterf (4h) : It's not going to be cheap. Certified arborists make good money. You cannot do A or E without one. If D fell on the house it looks like it would be no big deal, but the picture might be fooling me.
Zero2Cool (4h) : I have a feeling these trees being removed gonna cost me lot more than I was bargaining
Zero2Cool (4h) : I haven't had much issue ever will drills. I have a pretty firm grip. BUT I also haven't had a chainsaw in my hand while trying to balance on a ladder
Zero2Cool (4h) : Hmm, maybe I just use my sawsall to cut it down. I'll be back in four months.
dfosterf (4h) : Ever had a drill get stuck in the work and twist your hand? Exact same speed as a chainsaw kickback. I don't think even batman dodges that.
Zero2Cool (4h) : WTF is the dark knight doing cutting down dudes trees!!!!
Zero2Cool (4h) : Not a worry, I'll wear my Batman suit!! Imagine the photos!!
dfosterf (4h) : Oh oh, lol Chainsaw accidents average 80 stitches in the emergency room according to the US Forest service. 🤣
Zero2Cool (4h) : holy crap, you can rent a 35 ft lift for $300 for a whole day??
Zero2Cool (4h) : I'll post pictures. One of them is probably 50 feet tall
dfosterf (5h) : I'm sure when he gets his estimates they will render opinions on his plan
dfosterf (5h) : Or dumped, depending on the truck
dfosterf (5h) : Thing is, if he's hiring a tree service, my guess is we are talking some big trees. That shit usually gets craned on and off the chipper shredder truck.
beast (5h) : That's why some wooden ramps can be nice. And heck, you got the wood with the tree. Turn it into a ramp, wheel barrow the rest onto the truck 😋
dfosterf (5h) : I don't know the diameters you'd be dealing with, but tree sections are almost invariably a hell of a lot heavier than they look
Zero2Cool (5h) : Eh, that's not right. It's more like three an half feet. Still sucks loading things into it.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Damn tailgate is almost four feet above ground.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Considering there's no way in hell I can lift something much longer into my damn truck, shouldn't be problem!
Zero2Cool (5h) : Wood must be cut to 4-foot sections to be accepted at the Waste Transfer Station.
Mucky Tundra (5h) : Zero2Stumped
Cheesey (6h) : Sounds like ZERO is....STUMPED! LOL!
Zero2Cool (6h) : Basically cost of cutting tree x,y and z individually, and cost of stump grinding per tree and clean up haha
Zero2Cool (6h) : I have stump grinding listed too as question. I feel kinda bad cuz I got like five quotes I want haha
dfosterf (6h) : Don't forget about the stump. That you can diy, but stump grinders are expensive to rent. They are a bit of a beast to operate, too.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Ugh. I'm so damn ignorant on this stuff!! Thanks for the heads up.
dfosterf (6h) : Some of the municipality dumps that accept tree debris have a maximum diameter that they will accept, so you might want to check on that before deciding on who is taking the tree
Zero2Cool (6h) : Packers announce Family Night will be held August 5th
Zero2Cool (6h) : I'm not sure what to expect, never did this before and first place comes today for estimate. I just compiling list of questions haha
dfosterf (7h) : Kidding aside, you sure they aren't coming back for it? Maybe went to get the chipper shredder?
dfosterf (7h) : Unless you hired the tree cut down and left company, which we don't have in our yellow pages 🙃
dfosterf (7h) : Well, it's called tree removal, so you'd think removal would at least be part of the conversation 😉
Zero2Cool (8h) : Looks like there's a public works spot near me that I can just dump it at. That might save me a few bucks
Zero2Cool (8h) : When you have a tree removed, do they commonly take the tree or is that on you?
dfosterf (9h) : I missed those comments. Curious as to what Bakhtiari said...
Zero2Cool (10h) : Sean Rhyan seems to have been raw deal with what got him suspended. At least, based on David Bakhtiari's comments. Too soon to really know about the kid yet
go.pack.go. (11h) : Dfoster, what’s wrong with Tucker Kraft?
go.pack.go. (11h) : Cheesey, yes I’ve been extremely busy lol
dfosterf (4-Jun) : Slip a kid standing outside the stadium 20 bucks and let him make the pick going forward. That collective obviously cannot.
dfosterf (4-Jun) : By any reasonable criteria to date, Sean Rhyan was the worst pick in the 3rd round last year
dfosterf (4-Jun) : Thus far, out front office failed yet again in the 3rd round of the draft.
Cheesey (4-Jun) : Gopackgo, I'm sure you are more then a little busy!😁
go.pack.go. (4-Jun) : Thanks everyone who congratulated me! Sorry I haven’t been on in a few days and I’m just now seeing the responses
Cheesey (2-Jun) : Kevin, you got it! They won't feel as bad about themselves! "Hey Ma! Ain't they losers? And you thought WE was bad!!!"
Cheesey (2-Jun) : Kevin on "The View". ..."Kevin, are you a right wing or left wing? ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!" Kevin:"I'm a CHICKEN wing!"🤪
Zero2Cool (2-Jun) : I think people like those "reality" shows feel insecure in their life, so watching others to put them down makes them feel better.
