3,500 deaths in this war compared to deaths of other wars or circumstances may seem small, but this war was unnecessary and wrong, and 1 death for an unjust war is too many.

Tell that to the people of Iraq that were being raped, tortured, and slaughtered by Hussein.
When you see people being slaughtered by a mad man, and your response is to turn your back and act like it isn't happening, is that the right response?
There were just as many protestors about us entering WW2 as there are now with the war we are in. They didn't feel we had any business trying to stop Adolph Hitler.
All that is necessary for evil to win, is for good men to stand by and do nothing.
Look at that nutcase in North Korea. He has nukes, and will use them. He should have been stopped WAY before he was allowed to get nuclear weapons. But everyone was afraid to take action. Now, we have a nut job that may just push the button.
You can't reason with mad men. Just look at AlQueda. They want us dead.......every one of us. You, your loved ones, ALL of us. You can't reason with them, as they don't CARE if they die. As long as they can take out some of us, they are fine with dying.
Now......back to the thread........I NEVER take my freedom for granted. It may be "free" to us, but it cost many people a GREAT amount for us to have it. Some one had to pay the bill for us to have our freedom. Even the freedom to blast our leaders for entering a war that they might feel was unnecessary. Try that in most countrys, say Iraq for example, and you would be put to death for voicing your opinion.
I always thank veterans, every chance i get.
Wischeez......THANK YOU for what you went through for our freedom! Vietnam Vets never got the appreciation they earned and DESERVED!!!

I agree. Saddam had been doing that stuff for ages. No one tried to stop him before to save the people in Iraq, why go now?

Same goes for WWII. The US didn't get in at first, they stayed neutral. Not untill they got attacked by the Japanese and had been declared war by Germany because of Hitler's over-excitemend, did the US enter the war. All they did was supply the UK with some materials before that. The US and the Netherlands did the same thing. They wheren't in the war to save the entire world, they where in it because they got attacked while maintaining neutrality.

But I don't want to turn this into an entire discussion. I don't know how appropriate that is on Independence Day. It's a big thing over there, I asume.

Tactically, they don't/didn't make as much sense? Who really knows? Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

As far as Independence Day.. I hope you all have a great weekend celebrating our 233rd birthday as a country. And in my humble (but accurate) opinion, the best country on this ball of mud. 😛

Kind of my point. I can understand Afghanistan I mean hell, we did get attacked on our homeland but going into Iraq was a bad call. Sure, they've been a foreign policy nightmare for us but we definitely just made it worse. We should have waited for more support from NATO and other countries at the very least. But shit, even I don't know why we went there.

Also I'm not trying to pick an argument or anything, I just think that with this post everything is contextually related. I mean go back to when we did sign the declaration of independence. "The Declaration asserts that "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."" Yet how long has it taken for other races to be "equal?" We still had slaves when that was written for gods sake.

I never said America was perfect. Alot of time we don't get involved in other country's problems because of the political wimps. We turn our backs and pretend it's not happening. If you read my post from last year in this thread about the nut case in North Korea.......do you see now that my fears are coming true?
And wait for NATO to get involved? We have seen in the not so distant past where practically no one has the balls to help US when we need it. Yet let one of those countries get attacked and see who they run to FIRST begging for our help.
Saddam had weapons. For those that think he didn't, i think you have your heads in the sand. I have listed where he kept the "great UN" inspectors out of places that he didn't want searched, then all of the sudden he said it was NOW ok. If you believe he had nothing to hide you are only fooling yourself. I WISH the UN would have had the BALLS to just go and do THEIR JOB without wimping out constantly to Saddam. Then maybe the truth would have come out. But if you wanted another North Korea on your hands, thats your choice i guess.
Me, I would rather be an American then anything else.
Happy 4th to all in the U.S.!

beast (21-Apr) : Sometimes looking extremely amazing, sometimes looking extremely lost
beast (21-Apr) : I haven't looked into the QBs, but some have suggested Maye has some of the most extremely inconsistent tape they've seen
beast (21-Apr) : Well it also sounds like Patriots are listening to trade offers, not that seriously considering any, but listening means they aren't locked
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Maye needs to be AFC
Mucky Tundra (21-Apr) : Not liking the idea of the Vikings getting Maye
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Vikings HC joked that he may or may not have sent flowers to Bob Kraft. That's where rumor came from.
beast (21-Apr) : Can't tell if this is real or BS, but some rumors about a possible Patriots/Vikings trade for #3 overall
dfosterf (21-Apr) : One playbook to my knowledge. I was shooting for facetious.
beast (20-Apr) : I'm not sure they have different playbooks for different OL positions, and Dillard run blocking is supposedly worse than his pass blocking..
dfosterf (19-Apr) : The only problem with that is he isn't a guard either.
dfosterf (19-Apr) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Went to a Titans board. One comment there. Not very long. I quote: "LOL" They don't sound overly upset about our aquisition.
beast (18-Apr) : OT Dillard has been absolutely horrible... like OG Newman levels
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Suit him up and have him stand in front of the big board as a draft day cautionary tale.
