Detroit - The Aaron Rodgers era is looking pretty good so far. Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in the first four drives of his second start, helping Green Bay build a big lead it needed in a 48-25 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

[img_r]http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/packer/img/news/sep08/saaron14.jpg[/img_r]Green Bay led 21-0 midway through the second quarter, but fell behind by a point with 7:41 left after Calvin Johnson caught his second TD in the fourth quarter.

The Packers went back ahead with a field goal on the ensuing drive, then turned the game into the rout it had been for much of the day with three straight interceptions.

Charles Woodson and Nick Collins returned two of the picks for touchdowns, giving Green Bay a lopsided lead again.

Green Bay (2-0) certainly will not regret its decision any time soon to stick with Rodgers, a first-round pick in 2005, and trade Brett Favre to the New York Jets after he came out of retirement.

Rodgers was 24-of-38 for 328 yards, three scores and a fumble. He threw a TD and ran for another in his debut as an NFL starter, leading the Packers over the Minnesota Vikings.

Brandon Jackson ran for 61 yards, including a 19-yard score that put the Packers ahead by more than a TD with 3 minutes left. Greg Jennings caught six passes for 167 yards, while Donald Driver, James Jones and Jordy Nelson all had TD receptions.

The Lions are 0-2 for the fifth time since 2001, when Matt Millen took control as team president beginning a stretch of futility that has sunk the franchise to an NFL-worst 31-83 record. Read More....

The author didn't mention that Rodgers was victimized by a few drops today. The only fault I can find with his performance, really, is that he's fumbled a snap in each game, though I'm not sure if those fumbles were his fault or Sptiz's. The other fumble today was an early blindside hit. That one is on Clifton.

Here are Rodgers' most impressive stats after two games:
0 interceptions
0 sacks (edit--the fumble counts as a sack--so he's been sacked 1 time)

He hasn't even come close to throwing an interception, and he has had numerous escapes when it looked like he was going to be sacked for sure, several of them resulting in completed passes or scrambles for first downs.

He's playing great.

That was aggravating. While it wasn't something that happened all the time, it seemed like Green Bay's receivers were dropping the ball more than usual. A couple of those killed drives that would have put the game away.

Not good to see. But other than that, Rodgers was excellent. The 49ers really fell asleep at the wheel during the '05 draft.

I heard five drops today.

The zero sacks this game, credit goes strictly to Aaron Rodgers . He dodged a lot of tackles and the OL played poorly. Aaron Rodgers was amazing today.

I'm so mad I had to miss most of the game but I watched the highlights. I'm so excited for Rodgers, he made some beautiful throws. That one to Nelson was perfect. It was good to see him get his first td.

you missed a hell of a game. You missed surgical precision by Rodgers. You missed the lions attempt a heartbreaking comeback and then the Packers say "NUH UH!" and return 2 picks for TDs, which is a reason im still drunk as i type this. bastards

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.

beast (3-Apr) : Using Patterson as RB and RB/WR tweener... so I think they also signed Patterson as a 3rd down RB, not just a kick returner as articles are
beast (3-Apr) : I think PFT missed the real Steelers/Patterson connection, Steelers new OC Arthur Smith has been Patterson's head coach the last 3 years
