here it is

Peter King of Sports Illustrated, NBC, and Sirius NFL Radio addressed the question of whether Vikings quarterback Brett Favre can make it through a full season in one piece, despite making it through seventeen straight years without missing a start.

Said Favre to King after Monday night's preseason game, "Peter, I just don't know."

King pointed out that Favre has a partially torn rotator cuff, possibly a cracked rib, and sore ankles. (Pete must have forgotten to mention that Favre also has swine flu and polio.)

And King has sage advice for Vikings coach Brad Childress -- if/when the team leads by 14 or more points in the second half of any game, the Vikes should get Favre out and let him rest.

The fact that Childress allowed Favre to stay in a meaningless game on Monday night -- and throw a low block on a Wildcat play -- might be a sign that Chilly isn't as worried about keeping his superstar signal-caller safe as Chilly should be.

This is a patently absurd question. Anyone who didn't believe he had what it took to make it through a 16-week season wouldn't (or shouldn't) try out for a roster slot. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring, much less the next four months.

A far more relevant question would be "Brett, if the time comes when you can no longer perform to standard, will you -- for the good of the team -- have the integrity to step aside, break your starting streak, and let someone else take snaps behind center?"

Now that would be an interesting discussion to hear.

Favre can go all season and even playoffs but he does not have the stamina anymore to to give 100%. That is the reason why the Packers wanted him to retire and keep him retired. I respect the man's record but it's time to call it quits. He is hurting his legacy and I am sure he does not care about that but the Packers fan did.

Of course he wouldn't IMO. As much as he would say "aww, shucks, I don't care about no records"...HE DOES! Besides, we found out the last 5 games of last season that he wouldn't.

Favre wants the all time consecutive game streak. And revenge on Ted Thompson. Not necessarily in that order.
And we all know he has more authority in running the Vikings than Chilly.

PLAYBOY: How did you become addicted to Vicodin?
FAVRE: You want to play. You don't want to give the other quarterback a shot at your job. I also have a streak going. I have played 80-some games in a row, the most in the league. The record is 118 and I plan on breaking it. I never took painkillers on game day. People think I was playing on them. I would like to see anyone take a couple Vicodin and try to play football. Shoot, you can't walk a straight line.

BTW, read that article in its entirety, might discover some thing you never knew

PLAYBOY: How much more can you achieve in the NFL?
FAVRE: Winning another Super Bowl. Going into the Hall of Fame. I expect to be in the Hall of Fame. But mostly I hope that in 20 or 30 years people will say, "That goddamn FAVRE, you had to watch yourself around him. He'd throw ice or put something in your jock, but on Sunday that son of a bitch was ready to play."

I guess the Vikings and Bears fans were right. We were warned about his ego very early on. Well, Vikings fans BEFORE Favre joined their "team" that is and they cowardly jumped ship from hate brett to suckle brett.

Favre himself states he will probably not be able to play all 16-games.

Favre says he 'may not' be an ironman this year

So, if he doesn't think he could play all 16 games, why the hell did he even bother starting another season?!?!?!?!

If I were a player on the Vikings I would be horrified at what Favre is going to do to my season. I see nothing good coming from him playing this season. I say that with confidence.

dfosterf (53m) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
