Jason Wilde

9-29 pod cast

the 27 minute one

Said base your love for Brett on other things, not on Teds ego..Then goes on to explain why Ted's ego was not the reason why Brett is gone..

about 8 mins in is when it starts

pointed out that on June 20th when Brett called to officially say he wanted back was the day after OTAs ended..
Mike McCarthy didnt want Brett to come back...TED DID

Then I applaud Mike McCarthy for finally stopping the charade and Ted Thompson for taking the blame and standing behind McCarthy, while being the most ridiculed and hated man in Wisconsin.

Still a lot of speculation. We will never know EXACTLY what happened. Interesting discussion though.

Wow, great post, the audio that is. I'm glad someone of the media has said what I've been saying for quite some time (and McCarthy has implied) that it was him that turned Favre away, not Thompson.

They also touched on a lot of other things too. And holy crap, you can tell these two have spent a LONG time scoping through the details of all the Brett/Packers split. I was glad to hear them point out the Packers mistakes in this too. Because they are definitely guilty as well.

One of the things said that I feel is not understood by a lot, or maybe missed. Favre is used to always getting HIS way. When the Packers didn't let him back in the second time (Brett changed his mind end of March, wanted to play, etc) he got pissed off.

I wish I had a dang transcript of that cuz there was a lot of good things said.

I agree...When I first heard this wasn't to sure if it should be posted since it is a subject that could very well lead to big arguments again..

But it has information that reporters ( that I ) have NEVER heard said in public.

Wow, very insightful. Thanks for the post. I had no idea Mike McCarthy was the guy that didn't want him back at first in April.

Excellent discussion of the subject. The time lines all seem good. I agree 100% with the team letting him go at that point. One thing that wasn't talked about, that really gets under my skin is that even after everything played out. Brett jumped straight to, Give me my outright release. Not even trying to use the middle ground, of. Well since you don't want me, give me permission to seek a trade.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Okay now my funny is over.

Click HERE  to read the press conference that made me think it was Mike (because he basically said it it was his decision) and not Ted that didn't want Brett.

dfosterf (8h) : Suit him up and have him stand in front of the big board as a draft day cautionary tale.
Zero2Cool (9h) : Packers sign T Andre Dillard.
Mucky Tundra (18-Apr) : Adds most of the information this time of year comes from agents.

beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC

Martha Careful (4-Apr) : Reversion to the mean would indicate we will keep it

Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft hasn't been made by it's original holder since 2016.
Mucky Tundra (4-Apr) : Gotta imagine that Green Bay vs Houston will be a primetime game this upcoming season
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
