I'll go ahead and say that I actually thought Rodgers played well -- not awesome, but well. He was being mobbed constantly, the running game wasn't happening, and he was very quickly down to 3 receivers. Given all the things that went wrong, the fact that he held his position down and avoided making a big mistake said a lot to me. Additionally, he never lost his smarts.

Now, I know people are going to wish he was more Favre-like and took more chances -- and games like Sunday night are just the sort of game where we're all thinking "He would have rolled the dice, would have taken a shot, and it might have worked." Aaron isn't that kind of QB at this point, and I think that's a good thing.

Best job to me was ChuckWood, however -- he was great. Felix made a SICK move on him and is too strong to get taken down by an arm tackle, but Chuck did a damn good job even getting an arm on him.

There were lots of 'A' games that night (Woodson, Jenkins, Jennings, Hawk, Kampman, Chillar) but there were just too many 'C' and 'D' games (Moll, Colledge, Tauscher, Frost, Rouse, Jones, Pickett, Grant) to overcome.

IMHO Jenkins was the MVP of the Dallas game.
Crosby did very well when he was called, deep kickoffs with very good hang time prevented Felix Jones from doing any damage on returns.
Will Blackmon played a very good game in defense and special teams, didn't give away any play when defending and put a key block on Collins INT return.

From what the others have posted I certainly disagree about Tramon Williams, Austin's TD was really bad he looked at the ball before the receiver and got behind when the ball came... Mental mistake

James Jones was unseen, and whoever it was that was supposed to be on that no name receiver who torched the Pack I thought was somewhat inept.

I think it was Tramon Williams. I'm still bothered by that play. I think if we had Al Harris in there, it wouldn't have happened.

Once Harris went out, Williams was probably covering Crayton. That means it must have been Blackmon or Bush who slept on Austin. (I could be wrong here, though.)

That's the Catch-22 of the whole argument right there. When we win, it's "Boy, I'm glad Rodgers is so careful with the ball." When we lose, it's "Dang, I'll bet the gunslinger could've found a way to pull that one out."

I'm with you, though. If Rodgers can be effective and careful, then that'll be much better in the long run.

On the sideline route, it was Williams. On the deep cross, the receivers crossed pre-snap and communication was poor. The other DB signaled to Woodson to switch, and he didn't really switch - kind of ended up in no man's land. It may not be Wood's fault, but that's how it looked on tv.

The cross route was on Nick Collins.

Is that verified by the coaches? I saw Collins coming over but both corners dropped off of him very early, and Woodson wasn't covering anybody.

Nope, this is actually verified by my own two perfect vision eyes. Collins went to help where help was already at and his guy slanted to the middle of the field. He tried to adjust, stumbled and the WR broke away.

Are we talking about the same play? You're saying Collins was supposed to have single man coverage on a WR on that play? Most of what I'm talking about happened pre-snap or right after the snap.

Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
beast (25-Mar) : Simply fined in the week to follow
beast (25-Mar) : I agree with one NFL official, it'll probably be like some of the helmets hits, not really called by the refs on the field but simply fined
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Hip drop is not. Super confusing. Referees job is harder
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Swivel hip drop is banned
dfosterf (25-Mar) : The hip drop enforcement will be in the form of fines, etc. Not flags
dfosterf (25-Mar) : A major foul will be enforced on the offense if there are offsetting penalties in a change of possession situation
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Teams will receive a 3rd challenge if 1 was successful. Previously, it took 2
