Sometimes I wonder if Aaron Rodgers ran over your dog or something. You do seem to exaggerate things quite a bit - Here's a nice read that's got a pretty good breakdown:

http://bleacherreport.co...y-packers-allowed-on-mnf

I would like to see either some clarification on your comments or some sort of evidence backing up your claim that Rodgers semi-regularly has the ball for around or more than 8 seconds with people open that he's choosing not to throw to. You repeat that stat often enough that I'm not sure whether you're exaggerating simply for dramatic effect or not.

The Seahawks game was one in which Mike and/or Aaron abandoned the running game altogether, as per Lang's comments and the Seahawks were able to "pin their ears back." It might not be the best data set as far as "holding the ball too long," although it's a great example of stat whoring per se.

I busted the hell out of my leg a few weeks ago, so I'm not working. If I have time apart from catching up on my extraneous bullshit, I was gonna go through all our games from last weekend week by week and break them down.

EDIT: Games from last SEASON. lol

*As long as Rodgers is the quarterback and has more than 2.5 seconds on average to get the ball out before needing to scramble

Hmm yet he has put up the numbers each and every year to even keep us in contention. Not his fault he doesn't have the tools on the O-line or the defense to back him up like in 10' oh or that injures happen to the team each and every year.

All i'm saying is without him this team wouldn't even be in the playoffs yet alone even a thought of a superbowl again.

Personally, I think the very idea that Rodgers would rather pad stats than take a winning play, or a more sure play to keep a drive alive seems far fetched.

I will say there are other factors that can make it seem this way. One, I am certain, is a HC and play caller like McCarthy, who has openly stated that he doesn't need to run the football, focusing on aerial prowess in a pass oriented scheme. A player like Rodgers may be inadvertently tagged a stat whore when all he is doing is following the route trees given to him in his progressions by his HC and play caller.

I do think some OCs fall in love with the passing game, and the ingenuity of diagramming brilliant, never before seen plays. Throw into the equation that now you have a NFL MVP at your disposal to make the throws, and a number of weapons to use as receivers, I think the propensity to throw more is heightened. I don't know how many here remember "Air Coryell," but he was one of the guys considered a "mastermind" of the passing game. Fouts, JJ, Charlie Joiner, Kellen Winslow. Holy crap. The immense power of that was startling, and super fun to watch.

Don't think for a second that hasn't had an effect on McCarthy. Same with Mike Sherman, when he had Favre under C. It is my opinion that some of these play callers get enamored with outsmarting opponents with a brilliant passing game, all the while forgetting that simple is usually good or better, and running the football is an essential part of the game. In essence, the game isn't as difficult as they can and often do make it out to be.

The tricky part is when QBs check out of run plays in order to pass, because they simply want to pass instead. I know Favre WAS that QB. I'm hoping Rodgers isn't. Us fans really never know, until way after the fact...

IMO, Rodgers has all the license he needs to make the best play. He is one of the best passers in NFL history. It is understandable a guy with that kind of talent would want to pass more than handing off for a running play. I just hope he realizes how important running the football effectively can be for his health, and for GB's chances of success.

This is where I feel the team needs a different philosophy, starting with the HC. McCarthy cannot be blabbing about -not- needing to run the fucking football. #1 - He needs to change his mindset.

Yeah nerdmann, I have a couple of titanium screws for the left if you need 'em. They are still good and just need to be re-sterilized. [grin1]
Hope you get better soon.

Didn't he say last year you need run the football? Only thing I can say about Mike McCarthy is he needs to bring back a lot more screens. Make those Olineman rough up their secondary. Also draft another RB to complement Green, Starks, and Harris. A part of pass protection is the RB. Not just the Oline. Get a guy who can do that well. Screens and dump offs will also benefit a downfield passing game.

uffda udfa (8m) : Only 80%? :). We lost by one given that stat? Wish we had hope of tightening up.
uffda udfa (11m) : Z, u should tell everyone who Quintorris is. Quintorris Lopez Jones, better known as Julio.
Zero2Cool (12m) : Matt Ryan completed 80% of his passes against Packers in October.
uffda udfa (21m) : McGinn goes full on attack mode dismissing the notion of "Packers people". Harsh.
uffda udfa (23m) : McGinn says John Dorsey likely to be next Packers GM.
Zero2Cool (2h) : Boom! Davante Adams says last year's ankle injury "more difficult to deal with'
uffda udfa (6h) : Packers brass potentially leaving? Not worthy of discussing. Pressure Cooker? Never enough talk about them.
Zero2Cool (11h) : Put Quintorris in a pressure cooker.
uffda udfa (15h) : Back to football: Julio says he's going to play Sunday. Did NOT say he wouldn't be limited in the game.
uffda udfa (15h) : Anyone ever used their dishwasher to make their Thanksgiving turkey?
uffda udfa (15h) : Favorite Ronnie Milsap song? Smokey Mountain Rain or Any Day Now?
uffda udfa (19h) : Favorite GM candidate... Wolf or Gutekunst?
uffda udfa (19h) : I'd rather sit them than play them too compromised.
uffda udfa (19h) : Yeah, Z. More pressure cooker talk and smoked turkeys.
Zero2Cool (19h) : If this were a regular-season game, Nelson, Adams and Allison probably would not play, MM says.
Smokey (20h) : Mason Crosby is ill, hope it's not the Flu.
Smokey (20h) : Great, can we move past that story and get back to the Atlanta game ?
Zero2Cool (20h) : Packers exec Eliot Wolf has withdrawn his name for 49ers' GM job, as @TomPelissero reported. He didn't feel it was the right time.
TheKanataThrilla (21h) : We'll just have to score TDs then.
Zero2Cool (22h) : That's what we know.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Crosby, Mason K Illness
Smokey (22h) : Is He ill or not ?
Smokey (22h) : Raiderpride asked, "Anyone know what Crosby's illness is?"
Zero2Cool (22h) : Davante Adams expected to play- KFFL
Porforis (23h) : Alright, my opinion on Jordy has changed. If he's medically cleared to play, play him.
hardrocker950 (19-Jan) : By Sunday we won't have any WRs
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : Geronimo hamstring, Janis quad. BEAUTIFUL.
Smokey (19-Jan) : Mason Crosby, is his health OK ?
Smokey (19-Jan) : Hello
FLORIDA PACKER88 (19-Jan) : Davis, G-Mo, and Janis will need to step up, but all three did score last time we played ATL!
FLORIDA PACKER88 (19-Jan) : Does Janis become a playoff hero second year in a row? Looks we're gonna have to find out either way regardless. Thank God for a healthy Cob
Smokey (19-Jan) : Is Mason Crosby's health OK ?
Smokey (19-Jan) : What's in your Coffee ?
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Sit Davante if he has a bad ankle. We remember 2015.
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Davante is not going to practice until SAT at earliest.
