The guy knows the later rounds. He is securing talent, for moving back minimally. Go Ted.

I think he bet draft picks on the playoff game last year.

In all seriousness though, take Quinton Patton and call it a win-win-win for rounds 1 and 2.

per draft chart ... 49ers came out on top on both trades of picks.

Now that they've updated they're still in the 3rd round. I was just afraid that he traded back for a 4th and two 7ths or something. I'm just glad they're still in the 3rd haha. I get so dang emotional during the draft!!!

Swope, Williams, Bailey, or Quesenbarry here and I'll be happy. Almost a perfect spot for a Quesenbary like RajiRoad suggested too!

AHHHHH TRADED 93RD TO DOLPHINS!!!

Packers get 109, 146 and 227 for giving Miami the 93rd pick.

Unless you're suggesting that someone else took the pick the Packers were going to be taking AND that the pick the Packers eventually ended up with was inferior, I really don't see how trading down 5 spots to get an extra pick is a bad idea. Do you hate the trade, or just hate the picks?

Ted is a trade down fool! They must have some big players targeted mañana.

Count me as not minding this at all, as long as he gets good players. Our needs are vast. He's earned the trust. As long as he stays away from the Lawrence Guys et al.

Old school is you sleep on the 4th round with more good picks in hand. Now he can trade back into the 4th for maybe 3 picks there. No worries to me.

Most of these guys will still be available at 109.

DT: Brandon Williams, OLB: Khaseem Greene, Sean Porter, S: Earl Wolff, C: Barrett Jones, Brian Schwenke QB: Matt Barkley http://statwhore.wordpre.../nerds-board-rounds-1-3/

UPDATE: As per Demovsky:

#Packers will have two fourths, three fifths, two sixths and three sevenths. That's 10 picks tomorrow.

And now they trade from the 3rd, 21 down for an extra pick in the 4th, 5th, and 7th. It's like every year is a new year where we pretend we haven't gotten franchise players from these rounds over and over.

Unless Ted can move the picks to next year, moving back is going to be a waste. Who are we going to kick to make room for all these picks? This was a year to move up.

When you are a championship caliber team 6th and 7th round picks don't stick very often. They end up on the PS and then stolen by a weaker team later on. It is a waste.

And people were whining about us moving back instead of taking Lacie, then whining because we didn't take Lacie in the first, and then we still got him in the second. And then we pretend like first and second round players are guaranteed awesome players and 4th-7th rounders are practice squad fodder. This is why I don't get into the draft - you don't get any resolution until at LEAST a couple years down the line. Until then it's just mindless speculation.

In the first year or two I accepted it. He wanted to dump Sherman players and bring in as many of his own as he could get. With the cap crunch back then it was understandable. It is as if he says he will pay Aaron Rodgers and CM3 and stick a bunch of 7th round picks and street free agents out there with them in order to make it payoff.
