Chris Carter will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of fame tonight.
There will be alot of Super Bowl rings flashed around but alas poor Chris Carter will be the only inductee without a ring.
I guess playing for the Vikings is a bad thing when it comes to Super Bowl bling.

Not even the Hall of Fame can keep you from ripping a Viking? There is something really admirable about that. I've heard Crybaby Chris has never got over that '97 NFC championship loss to the Falcons. Poor bastard.

I always thought Carter was a jerk, but I am all for a successful redemption story. It's easy when things hit rock bottom to give up and let your life go right down the crapper, but Carter got clean and worked hard to get back at it and made himself a hall of famer.

And he got away with murder on the field. As slow as he was, he sure got wide open a lot. But he played in the days when they didn't call pass interference on the wide receiver.

It was the 98 season. The game itself was played in Jan. 99. Jesus, get your facts straight before you open your trap with shit talk.

That was in '99. you have been corrected.

Never liked Carter. Made circus catches, but other than that. Pfeh.

Frankly, back in the bad old days when he and Moss were teamed up, Moss's antics (except the traffic cop incident) bothered me less than Carter's sanctimonious "leadership." I disliked Moss because he played for the Vikings. But I disliked Carter, and still do, because he strikes me as the epitome of a prick jock.

IMO, his receiving stats notwithstanding, he doesn't deserve to be on the same stage with someone like Dave Robinson.

Or on the same set with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson and Mike Ditka.

IMO.

Yeah, his 'sanctimonious' leadership is terrible. Which is why when he went on stage to give his speech, he took his time to talk about all the people that helped him during his darkest times, on and off the field.

What a fucking prick jock.

"Articulate" and/or "good at public speaking" and/or "properly thanking others" are not the same as "of generally admirable character." Plato was wrong once again.

No doubt its unfair of me. Where do I get off demeaning the character of any pro football player; after l know none of them personally.

But, right or wrong, he has long struck me as a slickster. Someone like our current president or the republican he defeated in the last election, someone like an infomercial personality or a used car salesman.

Just call him a douche' bag and get it over with. Formo keeps his Richie Blackmore glasses on too much to ever objectively look at a Viking player.

Actually, I do have a pair of glasses that looks green. [grin1]

But, actually, this is not a case of "hating anyone who plays for the Vikings". Most Packer fans (I think) dislike Randy Moss intensely. I'm not one of them. And I still think Carl Eller is one of the great defensive players ever.

I just don't think much of Carter.

Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Listen to 107.5 the fan they'll tell you. I'm at airport.
Cheesey (11-Jun) : Thanks for trying WPR! I guess I’ll have to just wing it.
wpr (11-Jun) : Cheesey, The Packer's site says Nitschke Field. 12 am to 11:59 pm. I don't think they know
Cheesey (11-Jun) : Come on!! U smart guys can help me on this!
Cheesey (11-Jun) : Do any of you know what time the Packers mini camp practice is tomorrow?
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Vince Lombardi would have been 105 today
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : If I were Owens, after reading what some of the voters have said. I'd say F YOU too. Shady process.
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Apparently it costs the inductees a LOT of money to attend.
beast (10-Jun) : Or if Owens is avoiding all HoF activity? Or if he's trying to figure a way to make money off this. Simply saying he's not going to be there doesn't tell me enough
beast (10-Jun) : I feel as if I need more details. Owens said he's not physical showing up, but he could still give a speech via video.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Using 32 reporter votes is wrong.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : They held grudges against him, and ignored his excellence on the field. Bogus shit. Political garbage.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Owens has a point. Absolutely garbage how voters acted, and have responded.
buckeyepackfan (9-Jun) : The HOF needs to conveniently forget to include Owen's in the ceremonies, then fake apologize after.
gbguy20 (8-Jun) : Kevin, suggestion box. move the applaud button to the bottom of the post so i don't have to scroll back up after reading a good post. same goes for quote button i suppose
Cheesey (7-Jun) : Well...I wonder what HE is protesting. Maybe that he made WAY too much money?
Nonstopdrivel (7-Jun) : Wait, what? He bitches for years about not having been selected, and now he won't attend the ceremony?
Zero2Cool (7-Jun) : Hall of Fame announces that Terrell Owens has informed them he will NOT attend the enshrinement ceremony in August.
Nonstopdrivel (5-Jun) : Looking at some of the multiyear rookie UDFA contracts made me think of it. But now I see it's standard to sign them for three years.
packerfanoutwest (4-Jun) : Tavais or Tyrell,,,what's your question/point and why?
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : Probably I was thinking about Tyrell Sutton (Northwestern -- went to the Panthers).
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : Apparently, I'm full of shit. The amount of money teams are allowed to spend on UDFA signing bonuses is extremely small.
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : He's not named in any list of 2012 Green Bay UDFA signings, I mean.
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : I don't think that's the player. I don't recognize the name, and he's not listed on any news article from 2012.
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : Huh, his brief stint with the Packers isn't even mentioned in the Wikipedia article.
packerfanoutwest (3-Jun) : Tavaris Cadet
Nonstopdrivel (2-Jun) : He ended up not making the final roster and was picked up (I believe) by New Orleans. Can anyone remember what his name was?
Nonstopdrivel (2-Jun) : Several years ago, prior to the draft, Green Bay offered a RB prospect (out of Appalachian State, I believe) a six-figure signing bonus if he'd agree to hold out for them.
