The Packers used the Lions aggressiveness against them. It was a good game plan.

Several times during this game I was reacquainted with a feeling I haven't had with a Packers RB since Ahman Green. Lacy looked so close to busting a huge gain on several occasions. With Green I got that impression a lot, with Lacy it's only a matter of time.

Side note, If McCarthy knew Lacy was 1 yard shy of 100 do you think he would have given him the ball rather than have Rodgers take a knee? I think he would have. I was kind of hoping he would after the Lions called the timeout after the knee but I understand why he punted.


no Mike does nothing to try and get personal accolades for players and he does nothing to that would rile up the other team generally speaking.

I disagree. First of all a run would not have riled up the the other team. It actually would have made more sense than taking the knee. If Lacy gains that yard we do not have to punt and Rodgers takes a knee on the next play.

Second, I think Mike McCarthy may have given Lacy the ball had he known he was only a yard short. McCarthy is big on having team support. You saw how bummed Lang was when he found out Lacy was a yard short. Had he gotten that yard the entire offense would have benefited. The OL knows what has been said about them not being able to run block. I know its only a yard but its a benchmark. 3 different 100 yard rushers in three weeks would have gone a long way to building up their confidence.

It's not like he would have been passing for a TD with 1 minute to go when you are up by 3 TDs already. That is out of Mike McCarthy character. Letting a RB have a chance at 100 yards by calling a play that 9 out of 10 coaches would have called anyway would make perfect sense and I think Mike McCarthy would have obliged.

Mike is all about the win period. If they lined up to run for 1 yard how would the Lions know that was their goal? Dirty Suh could have gone in and cut someone at the knees and ended up with a serious knee injury. With Aaron taking a knee that kept the Lions from hitting hard.

Not correct. It was 3rd & 7 when Rodgers took the knee. So Lacy would have needed to get at least 7 in order to not punt.

Sorry, my mistake, I was thinking of the 1 yard needed for the 100 and got it mixed up with the distance needed.
