Still Raji should be better than what he is, but really they got a guy with a great passion for one thing (and was great at that one thing) and asked him to do something else (which he dind't have a passion for).

Raji has had plenty of opportunities to pass rush in a DT role in our nickle D over the years and he still never showed any consistency at all. His pass rushing has never really even been as impressive as Daniels. The only time Raji ever looks good as a pass rusher is when he's going vs a C and there are enough great pass rushers (Matthews,Jenkins) to take all the heat off him. For a guy with his abilities that is just completely sad.

But Beast will just keep using base 3-4 alignments as an example of something, even though the Packers run sub-packages over 70% of the time (I believe). The defensive lines responsibilities can change substantially in the sub-packages.

I think Raji's nickel snaps have steadily declined over the past three seasons. I believe the article I linked showed that statistic.

Decline yeah but he's still had plenty of opportunities to rush the passer. That's what happens when you aren't that good.

the article said pass rush snaps and I think it's going by PFF in that case (they count .5 sack as 1)

2010 507 pass rushes 7 sack, 4 QB Hit, 24 QB Hurry
2011 548 pass rushes 3 sack, 1 QB Hit, 16 QB Hurry
2012 366 pass rushes 0 sack, 1 QB Hit, 22 QB Hurry
2013 235 pass rushes 0 sack, 3 QB Hit, 08 QB Hurry

The defense had significantly less plays in 2012 than 2011 so there weren't as many opportunities overall but his production was still similar. This year though he has completely fallen off the map and been entirely ineffective lending to the idea that he just isn't trying as hard. Though none of these numbers are that impressive for a guy who is complete crap against the run. This is supposed to be his thing and at his very best he's average at it.

For reference here is Mike Neal last year (A guy who has never even sniffed a pro bowl vote and is always banged up)

2012 205 pass rushes, 5 sack, 3 QB Hit, 12 QB Hurry

And Daniels this year
2013 278 pass rushes 6 sack, 5 QB Hit, 19 QB Hurry

He's already about equal to Raji's highest production season ever but with just over half the pass rushes. This guy is an undersized 4th round pick. Not an extremely athletically gifted 9th overall 320+ lber

Raji isn't even that impressive at the thing he does best and everything else he does terribly which is why I was super confused with the report that he was offered 8m/year or whatever. I cannot believe that offer is still on the table after the effort he's shown this year though. I sincerely hope this guy walks though more than that I don't think he's earned the snaps he's gotten this year and should be sat on the bench.

Heck lets throw in Datone this year (coaches wont even give him more than 20ish snaps a game because of how he's struggling)

197 pass rushes, 4 sacks, 3 QB hits, 10 QB Hurry

The problem with that is when someone else quotes his nonsense then it shows up.

as twisted as they seem at times, you do have a point of view on football, unlike your dojo buddy who can't get enough of himself.

Everybody Sucks and Everbody is shitting themselves, except, those who aren't being allowed to play, or who have been injured.

Point made, can you all move on?

Funny, when someone posts the truth about you, you have to make up lies about them.

I undersatnd, since you have nothing to contribute, when it comes to The Packers, because your football ignorance has been exposed time after time, you turn to the only option you have left, lies and insults.

SAD, SAD, SAD

Finley, Wilson, Newhouse, and Wallace are probably gone. Finkey only because some team will offer him more than what Ted can afford to work into the salary cap the others served their purpose and will be replaced with better/younger players.

Jones, Shields,EDS,Jolly, Lattimore, Neal ans Starks i hope are back, adds to the veteran core of the team.

I would like to see Ted sign Picket,Kuhn,Quarless,Francois, Lattimore and Flynn to 1 0r 2 year deals, giving each of them a chance to stay in green bay and either end their careers there or prove they are worth an extended contract.

Raji probably should have jumed at the contract ted offered earlier, now hw will probably get real dissapointed in Free Agency, but there is a chance he will be back at a lower number.

M.D Jennings may have hit his ceiling as far as talent goes, do not see him staying around. Wouldn't mind if he was signed
.

BJ Raji
Jermichael Finley
Ryan Pickett
James Jones
John Kuhn
Sam Shields
Andrew Quarless
Marshall Newhouse
EDS
Mike Neal
Rob Francois
Johnny Jolly
James Starks
CJ Wilson
Jamari Lattimore
MD Jennings
Seneca Wallace

Kinda fruity ha Dark?

But you should pay attention to his list cause there was extreme effort put into it - a major contribution if you will.

The only real free agents we should be concerned about losing are Sam Shields, Johnny Jolly, and Mike Neal. Everybody else is a marginal player with the exception of a healthy Jermichael Finley. How is his neck injury - more risk than reward in my opinion.
