I'm waiting to see some semi-scientific polls of fans that watch more than 2 football games a year. I'd be absolutely shocked if more than 33% were in favor. Just leave it alone, Roger.

It is getting so I won't recognize the game any more.

edit- I see they used this line in the story. He stole it from me.

I would prefer they leave it but changing extra points is one thing that wouldn't break my heart.

Eliminating the extra point try is foolish. If you want to make the kick less automatic such as the days when DL and OL would try, then simply move the damn ball back to the 12 yard line which equates to a 29 yard extra point try.

Leave 2 point conversion on the 2 yard line.

There, the phantom "problem" is solved, now quit mucking with the damn game! You wanna much with something. FIX THE DAMN CONCESSION PRICES!

Quit kicking extra points and just make everyone go for two after every touchdown.

Obviously, Goodell feels that there is too much kicking in FOOTball.

That's what I was thinking. Although ultimately, that probably would result in more games being decided by kicks, which the NFL may not like.

I'm not for keeping things the same just because that's how they've been. Things need to be more innovative than that. With that being said, I'm not so sure that eliminating the extra point is a good idea. If anything, they should at least try moving the ball back a little and seeing how that works. It is pretty pointless as it currently is.

I got a better idea than messing around with extra points-make the OT rules less complicated by adopting what the NCAA currently does.

They don't matter until they do:

You can also look to the Lions and Eagles game this year where the weather was so bad the two teams couldn't kick and had to go for two every time. That was entertaining, but you lose that if the extra point is automatic.

Quite frankly, just fuck off Goodell. There are so many issues that need sorting and this isn't even remotely close to one of them. They don't take away from any other plays in the game. And if you are worried about something being almost automatic, how the flying fuck does making it wholly automatic fix it?

I would be okay with Zero's suggestion of moving it 10 yards further away. I would be okay with forcing teams to go for two every time. But automatic extra points? No. This isn't NFL Blitz (unless we get the late hits too).

Don't have any problem with them removing the extra point, and still allowing teams to go for 2 if they want. Taking 1 point if that fails.

TD - Commercial - extra point - commercial - Defense - commercial TD play games.

Along with removing the Xtrapoint, they should create 4pt FG for >55 yards.

Then every team will go for two because even if they fail to convert, they still get the one point. Where is the risk reward in that?

Simply GIVING a team a point is asinine XFL rules. This is the NFL where EVERY INCH is supposed to matter.

Don't kid yourself. those commercials wouldn't go away with the extra point.

Taking a point away means. They get 7 for a TD, but if they go for 2 and miss, they lose one point so they end up with 6 points just like today.

Commercials won't go away, but there won't be the commercial 1 play commercial 1 play commercial crap. I'd prefer a commercial break twice as long rather than slipping in a play that people really don't pay attention to anyway.

I'd rather dual screen with the picture in picture like they do with NASCAR and NHL.

nerdmann (18-Jun) : Yeah, wtf Kellen?
Nonstopdrivel (18-Jun) : Kellen Winslow accused of raping and sexually assaulting several women between the ages of 54 and 86.

Cheesey (11-Jun) : Thanks for trying WPR! I guess I’ll have to just wing it.
wpr (11-Jun) : Cheesey, The Packer's site says Nitschke Field. 12 am to 11:59 pm. I don't think they know
Cheesey (11-Jun) : Come on!! U smart guys can help me on this!
Cheesey (11-Jun) : Do any of you know what time the Packers mini camp practice is tomorrow?
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Vince Lombardi would have been 105 today
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : If I were Owens, after reading what some of the voters have said. I'd say F YOU too. Shady process.
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Apparently it costs the inductees a LOT of money to attend.
beast (10-Jun) : Or if Owens is avoiding all HoF activity? Or if he's trying to figure a way to make money off this. Simply saying he's not going to be there doesn't tell me enough
beast (10-Jun) : I feel as if I need more details. Owens said he's not physical showing up, but he could still give a speech via video.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Using 32 reporter votes is wrong.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : They held grudges against him, and ignored his excellence on the field. Bogus shit. Political garbage.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Owens has a point. Absolutely garbage how voters acted, and have responded.
buckeyepackfan (9-Jun) : The HOF needs to conveniently forget to include Owen's in the ceremonies, then fake apologize after.
gbguy20 (8-Jun) : Kevin, suggestion box. move the applaud button to the bottom of the post so i don't have to scroll back up after reading a good post. same goes for quote button i suppose
Cheesey (7-Jun) : Well...I wonder what HE is protesting. Maybe that he made WAY too much money?
Nonstopdrivel (7-Jun) : Wait, what? He bitches for years about not having been selected, and now he won't attend the ceremony?
Zero2Cool (7-Jun) : Hall of Fame announces that Terrell Owens has informed them he will NOT attend the enshrinement ceremony in August.
Nonstopdrivel (5-Jun) : Looking at some of the multiyear rookie UDFA contracts made me think of it. But now I see it's standard to sign them for three years.
packerfanoutwest (4-Jun) : Tavais or Tyrell,,,what's your question/point and why?
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : Probably I was thinking about Tyrell Sutton (Northwestern -- went to the Panthers).
Nonstopdrivel (3-Jun) : Apparently, I'm full of shit. The amount of money teams are allowed to spend on UDFA signing bonuses is extremely small.
