QUARTERBACKS (3)
Aaron Rodgers
Matt Flynn
Scott Tolzien
This might be the hardest call of them all, whether to keep both Flynn and Tolzien. And if the answer is no, then which to keep? Flynn is a proven winner as a backup, although he lacks some of Tolzien's physical attributes. There's just something about the Flynn-Packers marriage that seems to work, but Tolzien is making it a tough call. This one is going right down to the end.

This projection comes very very close to what I would do - an excellent job for a media type - usually only Packer posters come that close to nailing it.
I say: Add Adrian Hubbard and delete Nate Palmer; Add Stoneburner and delete either Flynn or Banjo.
Other than that, stamp of approval.

What has Hubbard done to earn a roster spot? He's tall and lengthy and played for Bama and has mostly disappeared for the Packers... and I disagree with that many OLBers and go light on DL and CB which some of the most important positions, and yeah so is OLB but they've already loaded with 6 they don't need a 7th... cut one of them and add another DL...
Packers have been down right killed in the past because of injuries lead to lack of a rotation on the DL and the DL got wore down and by the end of the game the other team just had their way with the winded DL. Need to keep a rotation... and at their weights Peppers and Neal aren't full time inside linemen...
I like Stoneburner and he has a very good knack for finding the soft spots in zone defense which the Packers have used in the past with Bubba Franks, Spencer Havner and maybe some others to be red zone specialist. And I believe Quarless and Bostick have struggled at times in the red zone so it might be the perfect role for Stoneburner. Though I think Banjo could be a ST stud... though I'm find with going with only 2 QBs.

Pretty good list by Demovsky, but I dump Tolzien to carry another defensive lineman. I'd also want to dump a tight end, but McCarthy loves these guys for special teams and versatility so I guess we'll keep 4 when 3 would suffice. Most of the backup linebackers really don't do much for me except for Barrington a real thumper and Jayrone - who looks like he just may have the goods to make Perry expendable.

Jayrone Elliot only beat two OTs that might not deserve making a 53 man roster... and now he has the making others expendable? I see potential but I guess I don't get the hype... I honestly think if you put another OLB (not named Bradford) on those same OTs they would of won as well and Hubbard even proved that against the Saints OT beating him easily as well when he got his shot.

Perry ain't going anywhere this year. How has Elliot looked in special teams? You have to be able to execute there to make the 53 this year with the numbers we have at the OLB position.

Seems like they cut some of the borderline cases earlier than some of the obvious cuts. I wonder if that is to give the guys a better chance to sign with some other teams or what. It seems like it worsens our chances of retaining players like Rolle and Perillo and Neal on the practice squad.

I might IR Neal and try to keep him for next year's training camp (depending on how bad his injury is). If talented bubble players are injured they might be IRed.

Yeah I think that makes sense, if they cut him they need to give him an injury settlement right? So might as well IR him and save him for next season. He looked good but probably not good enough to warrant a roster spot with his injury even if he can get healthy soon.
Then sign Hill or Perkins to the practice squad and they should be set at RB.

Rajion Neal is this seasons version of Tyrell Sutton.

Just like WR and other positions we have seen dozens of the fringe players come and go. They make more. Lots more.

To me they should keep 3 QB's.
After last season's fiasco, I'd feel a lot better having Flynn AND Tolzien on the bench, just in case.
And both of them have looked decent at least.

Well, they IR'd him so they must think he has some potential, though I doubt he would have done better than the practice squad had he not gotten injured, so similar to Sutton in that regard I guess.
Edit: Actually they need to IR him before doing an injury settlement don't they? So I might be reading too much into this.

I also like stoneburner - saw him in practice and watched a few of his plays in preseason - IMO he works hard and wants to play well. Reminds me of a bulkier nelson.

I think he has a lot more physical potential than Sutton...
