Wait, it is not court of law? Glad that was pointed out. Thanks. Might as well just let public opinion win out and who cares about what precedent this sets moving forward ... that is ... until it is YOUR team of course.

From what I have heard of the judge's decision, I think he got it right. He affirmed the factual findings, as it really wasn't his place to refute them. But he did raise some valid points about the process, despite a couple clear cut mistakes on his part. The claim that Brady was not forewarned about the process is specious at best, since it's his responsibility to know the rules, even if the rule is vague on the punishment. In addition, he questioned the punishment being equal to that of a PED cheater...clearly not his place to make that judgment.

However, I think it is significant that Brady did not get to review all the evidence against him and didn't get a chance to interview one of his accusers. In a case which ultimately means millions to Brady, the league at least has that responsibility.

If the league were smart, and their Hubris says they aren't, they'd habg their hat on the factual findings, admit the process needs to be cleaned up, and just accept the court's finding. The longer they drag this out, the worse a PR disaster it will be for the NFL. It is clear Brady's a cheat, they're already cleaning up the whole inflation checking process, let's just move on now.

It's going to just make them look even worse. And worse yet, if the NFL wins, oh my goodness the NFLPA is going to be PISSED. In other words, I do not see any winners coming out of an appeal, regardless of how the ruling comes down.

The NFL and NFLPA need to work together and not against one another. It's too bad the NFL can't silently tell the NFLPA without it going public they admit changes need to be done and want to work towards that. Problem with NFL doing that is the NFLPA is going to go run their mouth and say TOLD YOU SO! which leaves the NFL no choice but to continue fighting.

Ryan Braun through an appeal got his failed drug test thrown out due to process. That didn't mean he wasn't a juicer, only that he found a way to get off. Which is where brady's case sits today. As is typical I expect the league to appeal and win it, and Brady to appeal that and likely win. Same as went on for the Williams Walls that went on for a year and half and still wasn't finished, the Williams just dropped their appeals at that point.

The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35

dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
