The NFL is the ultimate TEAM game, it does not fall onto one person for better or worse. I respect that a portion of fans could fail to comprehend this because they simply do not care to understand. They care more about pointing fingers than understanding. It takes passion to care and some simply lack the passion to be knowledgeable before pointing fingers.

Look at the first selections during Ted Thompson's tenure with the Packers. How anyone can say Thompson is ignoring or failing to field a defense is just a sick attempt at undermining our intelligence and should not be tolerated. Again, this is the NFL, this is a team game and how that fact is lost when pointing fingers is disturbing.

The draft and develop approach only works if the latter part is handled effectively. Unfortunately, the free agent market has not yielded players of adequate talent to pick up where the developing part has failed. Then again, if the staff can't develop young talent, what makes us so sure they could convince players from another system to adapt to their system?

The failures on defense fall more on to Dom Capers than Ted Thompson.

2014	1	21	Ha`Sean Clinton-Dix	FS	Alabama
2013	1	26	Datone Jones	DE	UCLA
2012	1	28	Nick Perry	DE	USC
2011	1	32	Derek Sherrod	OL	Mississippi St.
2010	1	23	Bryan Bulaga	T	Iowa
2009	1	9	B.J. Raji	DT	Boston Col.
2009	1	26	Clay Matthews	LB	USC
2008	2	36	Jordy Nelson	WR	Kansas St.
2007	1	16	Justin Harrell	DT	Tennessee
2006	1	5	A.J. Hawk	LB	Ohio St.
2005	1	24	Aaron Rodgers	QB	California

As for "wasting" years of Aaron Rodgers, well, my opinion on that is simply to STFU. Aaron Rodgers believes in the methods utilized by the Packers, including Ted Thompson and if he didn't, he would not be quiet about it and we would know. Aaron has made that very clear.

How someone can lick the sweat off Rodgers jock and somehow with great cruelty hate Thompson, (whom Aaron has the utmost faith in) is befuddling to me.

Do you not get that Favre had proven to be a total clown in ATL. It's great Ron loved him in the previous year's draft. Do you not think that there were several guys who thought the world of Johnny Football in last year's draft? IE: Jerry Jones

Do you think Jerry is as hyped up on JF, now, or do you think the moment might have passed with what he saw out of him in CLE? RW saw the same kind of crap out of BF and STILL traded a 1 for him.

And if Favre did something to show Wolf that he was a total clown and Wolf gave up a 1st for him; the word we use in the English language to describe this situation is stupid GM...not risky GM. It is irrational childish and highly emotional to argue that Wolf is better than Ted Thompson and support that argument by showing that Wolf was STUPID. This is spitting in Wolf's face and very disrespectful.

Some, when their position is 100% out of gas making up stuff. 100% fabrication. If not made up specific facts will be provided.

Manzell is another logical fallacy [red-herring]: what exactly did he and Favre do in 2014 and 92 respectively to say Favre=manzell; it's an outrageous thought. Manzell 2014 is nothing like '92 Favre. And another red-herring: Manzell was not anywhere near Jerry Jones' #1/1 in 10 yr guy on 2014 draft board

The facts are clear: Wolf was stellar and took no risks!!!!!!!!!!

Something more about that Brett Favre trade is that Brett failed his physical and Ron Wolf told the examiner/doctor to give him the green light. Brett has the same hip condition as Bo Jackson.

The prognosis on avascular necrosis is at some point you're going to have to have a replacement or it's going to have to be treated. I don't have as much flexibility in that socket, but you're kind of rolling the dice. They said I wouldn't play three or four years. Obviously they were wrong and Ron was willing to take that risk.

Brett Favre  wrote:

After practice Tuesday, Wolf said that the team doctor at the time, Clarence Novotny, recommended flunking Favre on his physical. But he said Novotny was not an orthopedist, so he had surgeon Patrick McKenzie, now the team doctor, examine Favre. Wolf said McKenzie told him that in four or five years Favre could have some problems with his hip, but there was no danger of it deteriorating immediately.

This is the guy I wanted. They said four or five years, I didn't care. It turned out there wasn't anything wrong with him.

I'd be willing to bet ol' kool-aid is a Fantasy Football Champion. He probably DOMINATES his league. What is his secret?

Each year he starts out with Aaron Rodgers (Dynasty League.) Then he surrounds ARod with "Quality Veteran Free Agents." He finds them by their 40 time posted at the combine many years ago. That's basically all he needs to know about a player. Well, that and were they drafted in the first or second round. If they weren't they might not have even been invited to the combine to have an official combine 40 time.

Ol' kool-aid doesn't rely on the draft at all. It is a little known fact that most players are much better with their 2nd or 3rd team than with their first. Therefore it is not a good idea, EVER, to rely on draft picks to be major contributors to your franchise. Only "Quality Veteran Free Agents" should be relied on to contribute.

In 2011 after winning his 4th consecutive FFL Superbowl he called Ted Thompson to share his secret to success. All Ted Thompson has to do is surround Aaron with "Quality Veteran Free Agents" and the Packers can win the Superbowl every year just like Uffda! Can you believe that A-hole Thompson never called him back? What an A-hole!

Now, we have two GMs with the same starting QB. One has won FIVE world Fantasy Championships with Aaron Rodgers at QB. One has only won one NFL Championship (and he's an A-hole that doesn't return calls.) Which one are you going to put your faith in?

Brett Favre was a drunk like Manziel...missed the team pic in Atlanta... Glanville called him a "train wreck". Eerily similar to Johnny Football.

I love the fact that the Jets took Browning freaking Nagle with the next pick after Atlanta took Favre. I'm going to guess Ron kinda liked Nagle too? Brett went 33rd and was a freaking trainwreck and Atlanta got a 1st rounder for what seemed to be a failed 2nd rounder in Brett.

Have any of you seen the doc piece called, THE TOP 5 REASONS YOU CAN'T BLAME THE ATLANTA FALCONS FOR TRADING BRETT FAVRE, ?

So, the scout from the Jets loved Favre so when he became GM of another team he traded for him and that meant there was no risk? Got it. What a person feels about a prospect negates risk in taking him or trading for him. I conclude that every single trade in the history of the NFL had no risk involved because the other party wanted to do it based on a feeling they had that it was the right thing to do. The Vikings didn't risk a thing when they traded for Herschel Walker...they knew what a stud he was and had coveted him for years. No risk. Mike Ditka traded his draft for Ricky Williams and there was no risk because Iron Mike just knew he would be the NFL's best ever RB. Ted Thompson believed in Derek Sherrod and Justin Harrell...there was no risk in selecting them. Absolute foolishness on full display here.

When one of you decides to jump in a raging river because it looks really fun and you really wanna do it, there will be no risk because you really want to jump in.

Did Woodson believe in TT? Think real hard and google before you answer. Might not like what you find...same with Aaron. You really don't follow this team all that closely to make ridiculous statements like Aaron has the utmost faith in TT. Utter garbage.

Based on what? Our record? Mike Sherman must've been a Top 5 GM, too, if we're basing it off record. Why was Mike Sherman's record so good? Brett Favre. Do you happen to see any parallels with Ted Thompson? They're as plain as the nose on your face.
