I'm not saying that one cannot compartmentalize. That's exactly what I do. I can appreciate what Brett did on the field while knowing that he's not the best guy. The point above was that it's not just about the recent conspiracy items (purple shirt, not much love for current organization, etc. etc.) but also all of the things that happened in the past. The conspiracy items alone aren't much, but when cumulatively added to everything that happened in the past, it does leave some doubt for many. Maybe an easier way to say it is that Favre likely shouldn't get much benefit of the doubt in these situations. At least not yet. I think he still need to show the current organization some things. The same applies for Ted Thompson, Mike McCarthy, et al. If everyone has truly moved on, make that abundantly clear so we can all forget about it entirely.

I think a few simple sentences over the course of 30 seconds to one minute could have made a difference. But Favre is certainly under no obligation and as I said previously, perhaps he doesn't intend to be an integral part of the organization such as a Bart Starr or even Joe Namath with the Jets. If that's the case, than so be it. Perhaps some of us just had an expectation issue. Bart Starr has set the bar incredibly high, after all.

As you alluded to, just because LeRoy, Bart, Kramer, etc. have been so involved doesn't mean Bert is obligated to do so too. It'd appear he still holds a grudge against Ted and Mike...I'm on their side, but I get why Bert feels slighted still, whatever, so be it. He was and likely still is a self-absorbed, attention hogging, drama queen, but he kumbaya'd with most of the organization and fans so close enough as far as I'm concerned.

Time heals all wounds...hopefully it doesn't take too much time. The Packers seem to be over it and have reached out and moved on, the rest seems to be more up to Brett.

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
beast (3-Apr) : Using Patterson as RB and RB/WR tweener... so I think they also signed Patterson as a 3rd down RB, not just a kick returner as articles are
beast (3-Apr) : I think PFT missed the real Steelers/Patterson connection, Steelers new OC Arthur Smith has been Patterson's head coach the last 3 years
wpr (2-Apr) : It has Martha. I was stunned when I was in HS to learn Iowa was still playing half court BB in the 70's.
