We could also link Mike McCarthy on Janis last season saying that Jeff "was ready" after Thanksgiving last season. I have no doubt he was and is inconsistent. However, that is laughable in the context of continually trotting out Davante Adams who was the definition of inconsistent and terrible all season, yet, he played week after week producing nothing but brutal results. When, at any point, did Davante "earn his opportunities" to play this season? Back in OTA's when he was MVP? I would think the coach would judge him more for what he did in actual games than OTA's but, alas, he continued playing a guy having a miserable season for what purpose exactly? He had more upside than Janis? No. He was getting it done on the field...No.

Playing Abby and Janis was going to bring some frustration but they had more ability to positively impact games than James Jones and Davante Adams. Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins played a bunch as rookies...were they ready to be consistent and make no mistakes? No. They lived with them, though. Why? I believe they do what they do based on draft status. If Ted thought enough to draft someone high based on our ridiculous draft and develop system then the guys drafted high are getting rolled out there because they're the ones our GM believed most in. Gunter played extremely well in preseason and played at the U. Did he see much of the field. No. Why? He wasn't some draft pick. Of course, they played Shields as a rookie but I'm hard pressed as to who else they had back then.

The funny thing is...IF Janis goes on to have one heckuva career those of you who are minimizing him not playing this season will still cling to that and claim it was right not to play him because we didn't.

I'm willing to bet he looked lost in practice. The coaches aren't going to purposefully hamstring their team, there were probably good reasons why they weren't promoting him just yet.

It wasn't coaches being patient for them to develope or some other garbage it was arrogant stubbornness that kept those two on the bench so long.

Say what you want about Davante, but he 1: knows the routes, 2: can run the routes and 3: is willing to go up and get the ball. Perhaps Janis has figured that last one out, if the hail mary is any indication.

FACT is, all of these guys had issues catching the ball this year. That's why I think it has something to do with Aaron. If it was just one guy, I'd look at that guy. Aaron himself is the common denominator.

Davante Adams was one of the worst starting WR's I've ever seen for any team. That is not hyperbole. He was flat out dreadful. To play that scrub over a guy who could really change a game like he did vs SD and at Minnesota (two wins, BTW).

Please stop making things up, Nerd. It isn't too much to ask. At the very least, if you're going to post things that aren't true post validation for why you're posting them. I want to know what opportunities you're referring to, again? 12 targets all season. Davante had 21 in one game. Davante produced no more yards on 21 targets than Janis did on his 4 vs. SD. San Diego was Week 6. Why did Davante continue getting targeted and not Janis? It's indefensible when looking at their production. Janis should've been on that field ALL season. We lived and died with Damarious...he killed us with his mistake at the end... Janis would've been so much more ready to help us in the stretch if he'd gotten more than 12 freaking targets all season. It was proven when he actually did get a chance (Arizona) he produced. He got little other chances all season. 2 catches for 79 at SD and then bench again. Foolishness.
