Write that shit into the rulebook then, or at least allow for subjective interpretation (if it's not there already). They can't make this stuff up as they go.

I know what Brett did was legal.

My point was it was POINTLESS to complain about 'IFFY' calls/non-calls.

but how is Harris penalty iffy? LOL

"Formo" wrote:

Didn't say that Harris' non-call was iffy. Was just talking about Favre/Peterson helmet removal.

Also,, there have been plays where Harris or another of your DBs have mugged a receiver, blatent enough where there should have been a flag, but there wasn't. Like I said.. You win some, you lose some.

If you knew what Brett did was legal, then in no way does it prove your point that it is pointless to argue, because in one instance there was a referee call error which could have changed the game and not in the other, as it was legal.

Yes. It does prove my point. Stop thinking about this so logically. I'm not making direct comparisons. It's pointless to say that Peterson's helmet removal would have had a direct impact on the end of that game just as it's pointless to say that Favre's helmet removal would have an impact on the end of that Super Bowl.. Whether it being against league rules or not.

Why is it pointless?? Seriously?

If the ref did what he was suppose to do, do you know for a fact it wouldnt have changed the outcome?

Truth is, getting penalized for simply taking off his helmet (as he did), not celebrating with it or anything (like Brett did), well, it's a pretty stupid rule, and I certainly wouldn't be "hanging my hat" on that win, had it come to us in that way...I'da took it, but I wouldn't have been braggin' about it. Formo did say it best, penalties, non-penalties, bounces off helmets...shit happens...or in this particular case, shit didn't happen. It's still good to complain about it, though-- it's a "venting thing", complete with sailor hat and corncob pipe.... gotta love that gnome!

FOR!!

#1 What BF did was not illegal AT THE TIME..so to say what if he was flagged is not really the issue...Because it was LEGAL...

Thats like saying what if they didnt allow stick um back in the day how many TD would have been dropped THAT IS POINTLESS

#2 What AP did Is illegal and was confirmed by the NFL..So it is not pointless to discuss what ifs..it can still be discussed because it did affect the game weather you think so or not

Mountain out of a molehill, sir.

The correct answer to both questions is a resounding, NO. Which is why it's pointless to complain about this. You don't know what would have happened, no matter how 'good' the yardage loss sounds.

I mean, you have a right to vent about it. But, to make a case that it would have a direct impact on the outcome of the game? Pointless.

The head of the officials said today that Adrian Peterson should of been flagged for taking off his helmet after his touchdown. Sorry if that was posted, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

You consider that and what I think was a questionable call here and quite a few holds and you can conclude that the Packers did get a bit of a jab towards them by the refs.

With that said, I'd be more upset if the Packers deserved to win the game. The fact is they didn't. They played poorly and I thought the gameplan was bad too.

I think the team or player that deserved to win won, but then again they did so by default.

everyone keeps saying "we didn't deserve to win" and i just don't think thats true.

we lost by one point. not deserving to win is a 30-0 blowout. we did give up a bunch of yards and some big plays... but we did enough to get the lead and just barely lose it late.

if you ever put yourself in the situation to win a ball game... then you deserve to win. the ball went 10 feet right and we didn't win. but we deserved it just as much as they did.

dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
