I thought JC Tretter did a decent job at Tackle as a fill-in. I think this weakens the offensive line's depth because I don't believe Corey Linsley has a role elsewhere. Your thoughts?

"JC Tretter has had an excellent camp," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday. "I think I've answered that question repeatedly and JC, in my view, has earned the starting position at center. Availability is a big part of what you look for in your players.

Put the best 5 out there. If needed they can always move JC to OT and Linsley to C.

Lindsley can ride pine this year and save himself for a starting guard next season. They should be trying to lock up Tretter long term immediately.

If Tretter and Linsley were equals at center I'd prefer Linsley to start and the more versatile backup be the first off the bench but as of now its a moot point since Linsley hasn't even been cleared to play.

Once he is though it does make me feel good about the O-line for this year.

I've wanted Tretter back at Center for a while. He won the position and never really got to show his stuff because of an injury and Linsley looking good in replacement. I've always felt Tretter was a better fit. I like his better size. He is pretty fit looking 307lbs. I think he ads more power especially to the run game. I'm not worried about the G position I think the depth is fine with Taylor and Barclay with the 3rd Guard backup being Tretter. Waiting to see, or really hoping we don't see how they backup the Tackle positions after the final cuts.

I doubt Lang will be back next year so our middle line has a good chance of being Sitton, Tretter, Taylor. That is a healthy increase in beef on the inside to run and throw behind.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Love Tretter. He got shafted. Should've never lost his job to Linsley in the first place. Old adage used to be you don't lose your job due to injury. Linsley to me is a short area brawler type. Tretter is a technician with great smarts. He can run and get to that 2nd and 3rd level.

I like the idea floated to let Linsley try his hand at G in the off-season. The thing about going with Tretter at C that would make FOUR of our starting five up for contracts after this season. Ain't no way all of them are staying. I say bye bye to Bakhtiari, and Lang or Sitton and waive Bulaga to save on the cap.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

beast (5-Apr) : Probably not going to let Diggs walk away unless he's horrible... but according to reports he also might not be as good as he used to be.
beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC
Mucky Tundra (5-Apr) : Odd, why give up a 2025 2nd Rounder for him if you're just gonna let him walk?
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : Texans to let Diggs be free agent in '25
buckeyepackfan (4-Apr) : 49r's aign RB Patrick Taylor.

Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft hasn't been made by it's original holder since 2016.
Mucky Tundra (4-Apr) : Gotta imagine that Green Bay vs Houston will be a primetime game this upcoming season
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
beast (3-Apr) : Using Patterson as RB and RB/WR tweener... so I think they also signed Patterson as a 3rd down RB, not just a kick returner as articles are
beast (3-Apr) : I think PFT missed the real Steelers/Patterson connection, Steelers new OC Arthur Smith has been Patterson's head coach the last 3 years
wpr (2-Apr) : It has Martha. I was stunned when I was in HS to learn Iowa was still playing half court BB in the 70's.
Martha Careful (2-Apr) : Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese...women's sports has come a long way. GREAT TO SEE!!
Martha Careful (31-Mar) : Happy Easter everyone. I hope you all have a great day.
