He said he thinks they.can run the table when everyone was counting them out. That's not some big dramatic thing people made it out to be. It also doesn't mean he needs to guarantee Super Bowl or else he's not confident, that's a ridiculous jump to make.

Also he may not be confident of winning the super bowl but this is just really bad reasoning to use to reach that conclusion

I don't really believe any such statements , real or not , have any affect beyond firing up the opposing team. Bellicheck and the Patriots I believe know this and that is why they are generally very conservative in their press statements. It is most often some stupid player that brags about what he is going to do that winds up eating a large plate of Crow.

He also never uttered a rallying cry with 6 games left in the regular season.

If I were Aaron Rodgers trying to rally the troops, the locker room is where I'd be saying that, not to the papers.

What did Aaron have to gain by making the statement 6 games ago? He could've just said that in the locker room, too. Aaron is SMART. He KNEW the schedule that was before them. It was WEAK. He made his little statement and was hailed as if he was Joe Namath. Now, he has a chance to actually be Namath and says...nothing.

The logic isn't poor. He absolutely could be confident they can win it all but I doubt that very much. He doesn't want to look STUPID because he's SMART, therefore, he said...NOTHING.

Perhaps, it was knowing the Giants were upcoming. I guess just thinking about the Giants in the playoffs makes him feel like he's rubbing up against some kryptonite. If you just unloaded some bravado because you knew you were going to do something you thought was easy, it sure would be a lot harder to unload any bravado knowing the team that has ended you multiple times and at home after a 15-1 season because you had a terrible defense would make it feel all too familiar.

I would bet the ranch if we had the fortune of knowing we got to play the Raiders and Texans and then the Chiefs in the playoffs he would be saying a version of run the table II.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

The players and coaches all seem confident now, the fanbase isn't railing on them, the national media is high on the team. There is really NO benefit to making a superbowl guarantee right now worth the risk of how dumb you look if it doesn't turn out so yeah the logic that he doesn't guarantee therefore not confident is very poor.

There is NO uproar in the press right now.

I have felt that you have always based your arguments around at least semi-valid positions, whether I agreed with your positions or not. Your first post in this thread did not seem to be up to your standard, and your subsequent posts are confirming that this is just complete and utter BS, fabricated to spin venom against Aaron Rodgers and the team and stir up an argument.

Also he never even made a guarantee to begin with. All he said was he feels like they can run the table. Not some huge statement. The only reason anyone made a big deal out of it was because nobody else believed it.

dfosterf (27-Mar) : Does anyone know what Lambeau field improvements got put on hold? My guess would be for the 2025 draft
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : They're fun to do once in awhile. It's people who think they are "content" that annoy me.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Against tbd
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Luckily for all concerned, I don't post them. I did one, but that was like 25 mocks ago

dfosterf (27-Mar) : And/Or a city council, of which I haven't seen a good one in a very long time
dfosterf (27-Mar) : That sounds like a Mayor, not a city.

Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Gutekunst said early stages of Jordan Love contract being discussed.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
