Su’a Cravens on the “left squad” list

Some people really wanted S/LB Su’a Cravens, well the Redskins got him and they might be regretting at the moment.

Drafted with the 53rd overall pick in the 2016 draft... now maybe choosing to sit out for personal or maybe medical reasons... or simply might be retiring for football at 22 years old.

Report: Su’a Cravens talked about retiring last year as well

The Redskins’ plans at safety this season were thrown for a loop on Sunday morning when Su'a Cravens came to the team’s facility to tell team president Bruce Allen that he was going to retire a year after the team took him in the second round.

That decision is on hold at the moment as Allen convinced Cravens to hold off with a plan to put him on the exempt list for at least a month so he can work out his thoughts. Coach Jay Gruden told Cravens’ teammates on Sunday that the safety has “some personal matters to tend to” while explaining his absence.

Per a league source, Cravens is on the exempt/left squad list. If he doesn’t return within five days of receiving notice from the team regarding the consequences of not returning, he’ll be placed on the reserve/left squad list and done for the year.

Although Washington has not yet closed the door on Cravens, initiation of the exempt/left squad procedure forces a player’s hand. And if the player doesn’t come back, the player won’t be playing at all this year.

I read that his last concussion caused his eyes not to be able to track moving objects and he cursed concussions. That may have been some fake news on Twitter, but I did read it.

Football is on the way out as a Sport. More and more guys are walking away and more and more are questioning things due to CTE study.

Good move by Cravens if he walks away if story is true. Makes me wonder if Malachi got cut and is still unsigned because he's no longer sure of himself?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I wouldn't blame him (Dupre) in the slightest. That was a nasty hit, get out of it while you still have your health!
