Remember when the bikes stole John Sullivan from the Seahawks by signing him to an offer sheet that fully guaranteed his contract if he played more than 2 games in the state of Washington in 1 season, thus guaranteeing the birds couldn't match it? Did the new cba kill that? Or could we have just done the same thing to chicago?

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

This is in the new CBA according to Wikipedia : "No Offer Sheet may contain a Principal Term that would create rights or obligations for the Old Club that differ in any way (including but not limited to the amount of compensation that would be paid, the circumstances in which compensation would be guaranteed, or the circumstances in which other contractual rights would or would not vest) from the rights or obligations that such Principal Term would create for the Club extending the Offer Sheet (i.e., no 'poison pills')."

We could've just offered him more money on the back-end than we think Chicago would give him? They have all the cap-space in the world, but thought the franchise tag was too expensive. They didn't sign him to a long-term deal, either.

Maybe add in a lot of guaranteed money? That'd be a ridiculously ballsy move.

In the end, though, I guess it's little more than forcing their hand in this matter. We just decided how a contract of a pretty high-payed player on our rivals team will look.

As many transactions as Gutekunst has made in free agency so far, I'm inclined to believe that we're going to see Green Bay bundling plenty of picks to trade up in the draft. There's no way they need to keep all 12 draft picks at this point. They'll be shooting for quality over quantity. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Packers coming away with multiple picks in the second and third rounds.

Martha Careful (15h) : IMHO, not even close. He is not a guy you game play around.
Mucky Tundra (18h) : is Aiyuk worth a 1st rounder?
Zero2Cool (18h) : 49ers are seeking a 1st round pick in exchange for WR Brandon Aiyuk

dfosterf (19-Apr) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Went to a Titans board. One comment there. Not very long. I quote: "LOL" They don't sound overly upset about our aquisition.
