There will be more of the dissecting of the ZBS, but the most important aspect in my mind as regards the Packers and the scheme has to do with personnel. We have the personnel to ostensibly operate the ZBS as far as size and (debatable a bit) speed. Here is the real killer of the ZBS as relates to us. We have all heard how the ZBS is but one of the weapons in our arsenal. Fact is, we have TRIED to get away from the ZBS, but it creates such physical mis-matches that we are SCREWED, imo. Many of the successful "ZBS teams" have prioritized size, speed and skill. We have not done all three, imo.

LT Chad Clifton 6'5" 320 lbs. A functional traditional blocker- getting broke down, though, sadly.

LG Daryn Colledge 6'4" 308 lbs. His claim to fame was as a pass blocker out of college. HIGHLY rated in that area, then. He is NOT qualified to be either a Guard or tackle in a traditional blocking scheme. He is and will be outphysicalled, imo--- This equals SCREWED

C Scott Wells 6'2" 303 lbs. Too small.

RG Jason Spitz 6'3" 302 lbs. Too small.

RT Tony Moll 6'5" 306 lbs. Too small.

G Allen Babre 6'4" 305 lbs. Too small.

T Breno Giacomini 6'7" 311 lbs. THAT's RIGHT---TOO small

T Mark Tauscher 6'3" 316 lbs. Marginal size Historically able, but on the small side, and quite possibly done, here.

G Josh Sitton 6'3" 317 lbs. smallish

See how we are screwed by ZBS? MANY teams have run the scheme, and have been successful. We are NOT successful in the scheme, and cannot revert back... we HAVE to run it against many teams because we do not match up physically with them in a traditional hat on a hat. We need bigger linemen, and we need a lot of them, and if we are to abandon the scheme completely... we need to replace (For your draft and FA planning purposes) Probably when all factors are considered...ALL OF THEM.

imo.

Why aren't we successful? What is your basis for this? We have two backs that average 4 yards a carry or more. I can understand if you came out with this earlier in the season, but I'm pretty sure that the poor running game was due to Grants injury and the line being moved around because of injuries. We've been pretty effective running the ball this season.
