If you hang any blame on injuries.. then that finger must point at TT, MM, and staff.. they compiled the roster and tabulated the depth of this team.. as well as making the adjustments to game plans to deal with the injuries.

No Excuses.

The coaches failed coaching up these guys because we saw the same mistakes week after week and hardly anyone stepped up for injured players. Mike and Ted are not getting fired, but I do think some moving will happen in the offseason with regards to the coaching staff.

Oh, good lord.

Okay, boys. Go get your pound of flesh for the grievous injury the Packers have dealt you this year. If it'll make you feel better, I'm all for it.

Obviously only a few of you got my actual point, which is that simply acknowledging that the injuries (AND the lack of depth and coaching chops, which I have now pegged squarely on Thompson and McCarthy at least 3 times in this thread alone) really hurt the team this year is NOT making an excuse.

But, yes. For the last time, yes. The fault for the failure to cope with the injuries, if you simply must find fault, lies with Thompson and McCarthy.

I was only agreeing.. I honestly think there is enough shared responsibility in the entire season to share equally amongst the players, coaches and personnel departments.

I have said it a number of times, I think this will serve us the Packers well in the long run. Mike McCarthy will have to seriously evaluate his staff and schemes this offseason and correct problems.
Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson will have to seriously evaluate the depth of this team and how talent was utilized this season.. then make the necessary adjustments in the draft and free agency to fill in voids. I think it will highlight the need for the leadership factor that is missing on the field this season.

I have faith that we will become stronger because of the 08 experience... not only in talent on the field but in building a stronger team.

I don't want a pound of flesh.. I want freaking growth of this team, meaning from the top of the football operations to the freaking punter that shanks his first punt.

Theres a difference between an "excuse" and reality.
An "excuse" means it's not a valid reason for something.
BIG difference from actually looking for why something happened, and finding some "reasons" why it happened.

Thank you, Cheesey -- that's really all I was trying to say.

Now of course we'll be told that the injuries aren't valid reasons that the season went south, because as we all know every other team in the league has simply reloaded and had no problems due to injury.

Yep.
