Yeah, I really don't agree with getting rid of Mason Crosby. It needs to stop now.

Maybe it's because I'm more of a baseball guy that I don't see these types of knee jerk reactions coming from fans mouths. A year ago Thompson was on his way to executive of the year and McCarthy almost won coach of the year. These guys didn't completely change their mindset or anything, they went through a rough year and didn't catch many breaks. Same thing with Crosby, most points in the NFL as a rookie and now people are saying to cut him loose. Think things out for the long term and look back at previous success before you guys make such rash and moronic statements!

You also lose them by your QB throwing a pick in the last 2 minutes of a comeback, or not moving the team down the field at all during this critical juncture. Or by not scoring enough points to put the game away earlier.

FYI, it's not considered a comeback if your QB had just given you the lead and then your ST/D gave it up again. A comeback suggests some sort of positive direction.

Punting needs to be looked at. Whether that needs to be Lechler or another punter for competition.

The bigger problem is the penalties, and mostly the false starts, and holds by the O. I do not think this is a coaching problem. Some players just commit penalties.

You only have to look at the RT history. Back when Dotson was the RT, he was guaranteed to commit 1-2 false starts a game with a hold or two sprinkled in. Every game every year he played. Tauscher comes in, and the penalties stop. Tauscher has to be the least penalized lineman for years. An ave of 3 per year. He just doesn't get called for penalties. Now Moll is in and back to a player that commits penalties.

False starts are inexcusable. Holds are commited every play but it is the players that are in good position that get away with them. Tauscher was one of those. Moll does not appear to be.

Nailed it.. we overachieved in 07 and underachieved in 08'... hence the large swing in victories between the two years.

Lack of confidence, growth, focus, and some include "luck" helped along the way...

A full thorough recap of the season, breakdowns and lack of progress at years end should lead to adjustments and changes accordingly.. then a positive offseason without much drama leading into a focused and intense offseason training program and training camp with have this team rabid, salivating for W's come next season..

Baseball is a different breed.. rosters generally turnover rapidly there and individual players can impact a team greater and more quickly than in football.. the mindset of the minor leagues and developing players is accepted more readily than in football.. their development happens out of the spotlight.. not in front of the nation like here.

Fans accept gradual progress more readily in baseball and have more patience overall.. the game lends itself to that style..

Perhaps I worded this wrong. To make it clear I am not throwing a young kicker under the bus. He did lead the NFL in points already once. I have always defended just about any player because it is the NFL, there are only 1,800 players and they had to be good to get there.

I was just pointing out three interesting stats. The Packers should not be 27th in FG % between the 30-39 yard line.

Perhaps he has been rushed, the snaps were not perfect, or his holder did not get the laces out? I do not know.. My point is we need to get a kicker to nail those. Perhaps, and I hope Crosby is that kicker.
