Excellent points trom, thank you. I needed that. I'm a bit bummed at our team's lack of doing anything. The lack of doing anything seems like they are okay with what happened, but i easily forget that we wiped out our defensive staff. That shouldn't be unnoticed when it comes to changes for the team.

Ok i heard some stats on Mike and Mike in the morning this morning and i want to find them but it was actually amazing. They were talking about Cutlers stats and in effect it proves some people wrong about him. He throws an int 1:33 i believe they said and Drew Brees is 1:37. Cutler was sacked 11 times all year, before you say he had a good line remember they had 2 100 yard rushing games this year. They talked about more so im waiting for the replay to try and get more of them. I know one of them was about the 4th quarter yardage and tds. I'll watch the replay and write them down and repost them.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Pass blocking and run blocking are two different things though. Also, their running issues might've had something to do with the fact that they where running a FB most of the season... just look at Tatum Bell (Really underrated guy, btw) in those last games. He didn't get anywhere in Detroit, but he was running wild behind that Broncos O-line.

They also do alot of designed roll-outs, which keep the sacks down if you don't have QB spies. Something I don't see alot of NFL teams do either.

Still, there's no one that argues that he's a good QB, i think. I still think his Int to TD ratio is a tad low. I mean, it's not even that bad, the statistics don't back up my gut feeling here. It still is 1.46 over his career. This year being one of his worst in that statistic, 1.39.

Our guy has a 2.07 ratio over his career and this year it was 2.15. Same goes for alot of other guys like Rivers, but then again, those stats don't mean alot. Just trying to point out that he does throw alot of ints, at least, for my taste.

Oh, btw, Favre has a 1.49 over his career, that's really alot lower than I thought (In a good way). Didn't want to hi-jack this thread though. Go along. 😛

Good info, but having a good running game or not does not mean you had a good OL. Run blocking and Pass blocking are two different breeds my friend.

I still say Jay Cutler is another Jeff George with more mobility. And a Jeff George makes the Bears, lots better. I think George was traded early in his career after a Pro Bowl season too? I'm not sure. I just know he bounced around. Cutler has the body of a QB, but not the mentality.

edit, also it should be noted that the Bronco's lost a lot of RB's to IR last year so they were very pass happy. So for him to throw that few of INT's and get that few sacks says quite a bit about the guy. Everyone knew they were passing and he still didn't get sacked every game. Brandon Marshall, Brandon Stokely and Eddie Royal helped out.

I really don't know where you're getting your info, but Denver had 12 games where they rushed for over 100 yards (are you talking about individual players?). Just because they split carries between backs does not mean they weren't effective on the ground. There's a reason why fantasy teams shied away from Denver's RBs...Shanahan really never stayed with one guy.

There were multiple games where two guys rushed for 40 or 50 with splitting carries.

They were definitely better on the ground than the Packers, even if Packers had more "100 yard rushers" than Denver. I don't like that type of stat cherry picking. They had a 4.8 yd/carry average, which is very good and very effective.

Plus, the sack stat:

Denver has two very good, very young tackles that were excellent at pass blocking. Denver's offense calls for a lot of role outs too and Cutler's evasiveness in the pocket is very good.

Well I'm sure they were talking about 100 yard rushers, which is a stupid cherry picked stat that means nothing.

I really didn't mean to blame you for anything I guess. Mike and Mike should clarify that stat then.

Rodgers is better then Cutler. They both have amazing arms but Rodgers has way better pocket presence/awareness and makes way better decisions. If anything I would say talent wise they are about even, give or take on either side. Cutler seems to have focus problems and will make very poor *Brett Favre* decisions. Rodgers keeps those pretty limited. Cutler has quite a bit of a better line, at least last year anyways. Rodgers has a few more targets.

Having said that I'd take either QB on my team any day.
