Damn, I feel like my Daddy just whooped my ass and sent me to my room.

Anyway, I just think Peppers is one of those special players that wreak some serious havoc on a football field. I think Aaron is a very good football player that can be controlled on a football field.

LOL.. sorry if it came off wrong, but I was just making my point when I talk about the money aspect.. simply it is compounded by the risk of him fitting into a new defense.

Where as we have a limited risk in Kampman at the moment.. if he can't adjust, then we have options at the end of the year.. with Peppers, it is almost certain we would have to ink him in the acquisition and then hope he can make the transition into the 3-4.

I think Peppers is a fine player.. freak of nature in a way. But there is still a ton of risk in acquiring him. Too much for my taste.

93, you don't ever need to say your sorry to me, I need that ass whooping once in a while! We're always good.

I know we won't get Peppers, but this time of year really sucks for football coversation.

It is stuff like this that reinforces the stress of reporters to find some juiciness in a Favre-less OTA season.

Wake me up when training camp begins 🙂

Boy that just seems like he is still pissed off. The yes i am, have to is a downer on it all. Or he can't make the choice comment.

Sounds to me like he's not happy but it would have been nice to see a video to see his facial expressions or the full story.

i'd be angry also. the guy is a pro bowl de, but now we are moving him to olb. why?? if i am an opposing offense, and i see #74 at olb, the first thing i am going to try and do is get #74 in the open field covering a te or rb.

on another note. i see you posted a link to a website you created for a class. you made a comment about using dreamweaver over notepad. did you actually receive a passing grade for that website?? just wondering, seeing as how when you check the site for w3c compliance, it spit out 18 errors and two warnings on the first page alone.

there is a reason why they want you to code in notepad. ever hear of SEO

you think that AK is going to be asked to drop back every time he is in?

Mike McCarthy has said he feels the 3-4 will help Kampman because the defense can disguise better when he's rushing the passer, and where he's coming from.

Capers probably won't be asking Kampman to drop into coverage much at about 265 pounds. Capers compares him to Lamar Lathon and Tony Brackens, bigger men who played outside linebacker for him in Carolina and Jacksonville, respectively.

Dom Capers: Kampman's position switch might not be as drastic as it seems, given the fact he generally will go back to being a traditional defensive end when the Packers deviate from their base defense with a "sub" package with extra defensive backs.

A 3-4 OLB on a TE or especially RB with no help will be a mismatch more often than not. "Hey, they're gonna try to send Kampman on the rush. Let's throw a TE or RB out there and he'll never make it over the LOS." If you can't find a way to counter something as simple as that, you shouldn't be a DC. It could be as simple as bringing Bigby over or sending one of our ILB's out in coverage, so that Kampman can rush. Or sometimes we may drop Kampman back. It's our choice more than the opposing offense's. He's going to drop back probably 5% of the time, imo.

He is the only thing I can say with regards to Kampman being out there and the effect it will have on the defense.

MY guess is more often than not, he will be either rushing or dropping into a short coverage window.. that will have an trickle effect on the safety, corner in zone and inside backers reads and responsibilities in base sets.. any deep coverage calls will put the green Kampman in a severe disadvantage..

But as Mass states.. it can be accounted for and protected against.. but it will have a "stretch" effect over a more nimble speedy backer.. however the stoutness Kampman will bring to that edge will offset some of that loss as well.

I think it will be fine if not an additive in Terms of the pressure Kampman can apply in the passing game..

Yeah, I agree. I think Capers is capable enough to not let Kampman go man to man against a TE or RB. Or anyone, for that matter. If we'll see him cover, I think he'll be in a shallow zone 99% of the time.

Not getting Kampman on a TE or RB should be just as hard as not getting Barnett on Greg Olsen for instance. If we want, we just sub another DB in and let him take care of that. I don't see any problems here. I hope he doesn't see that as a problem either.

ok, i do not want to be labeled a troll, because i love the packers, but here is my thoughts.

i think it would be easier to ask kampman to add 10lbs and keep him at de. i really wonder why some posters feel the packers can have a lber cover a te or rb over kampman.

can i ask who?? to me, this was a glaring weakness last year (rb & te running free over the middle of the field), so how can this be a solution to kampman being in coverage.

i really feel opposing offensive coordinators will try and expose #74 in coverage, and asking a lb or saftey to fill that void is a little scary right now. the packers do not have that lb or saftey on the team. maybe collins, but bigby better show some improvement because he was beaten deep many times last year. the guy can hit, but he looks so stiff when he runs.

I don't know if taking away his pass rushing ability during 3 man fronts would help our defense.

Martha Careful (4h) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (5h) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (22h) : And the OL protections seem to be good.

Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
    Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train

dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
    Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.

Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
