Raji is our NT of the future. I have little doubt that is the team's ultimate plan for him. Was the contract and amount of guaranteed money a lot? Yeah, but it was in line with what players who were taken around him are getting.

The fact we were able to get him into camp where he'll still have three preseason games to get into game shape instead of having him hold out until Week 2 like Crabtree probably will will go a long way in allowing him to provide a more significant impact to start the season.

After seeing how our defensive line floundered down the stretch last season after Jenkins went down, we'll take as much depth as we can get on the defensive line. A line of Raji, Pickett, and Jenkins is going to be a lot of beef for opposing offensive lines to deal with, and with the amount of potential FAs we may have after the '09 season, it's nice to know we have Raji who can take over for Pickett if we can't resign him.

We're not Viking fans, we don't talk about Super Bowls in August. We start talking Super Bowl only when we are actually in the playoffs.

We're excited because we recognize this guy as a very important role player to possibly a very good defense. It's all conjecture right now anyway, there O pisser on Cherios.

2 things ...

#1 We talk about the superbowl when its 1-34 odds of us winning

#2 ya I think thats cool that we signed him; but I do agree he's got to prove his worth and ya we need a solid NT (not sure if raji is going to cut it or not).

Lets remind raji that his home is in greenbay now and to stop going home for his boston chicken

I know dhazer has a history on this site of being the pessimistic poster, but he's got a point (whether a fascination with crabtree is fueling his opinion or not).

Everyone hated him two days ago (myself included) and now everybody loves him (myself included 🙂

I will say that good NTs are invaluable and very very hard to find. No guarantee with ANYONE, but he appears to have as much potential as anyone GBP have seen since Grady or Gilbert.

EVERYONE hated him??? What??? Are you serious?? I don't think many people if any "hated" him. We just wanted him to get into camp and start contributing. Frustrated? Maybe. But that's has NOTHING to do with hate. I get "frustrated" at my girl friend sometimes. Does that mean I "hate" her? No way. I love her to death. We were just getting anxious that's all.

Geeeeez, talk about exaggeration. Cracks me up.

There are no guarantees (other than his contract money) with Raji.

The posters who called him a fat ass just wanted to see him get his butt into a GB huddle. Then to be glad the holdout is over is natural. No opinions about his ability have changed at all.

As for whether or not a DE can change the course of a game. There have been many DE's that had that ability starting with Reggie. (Disclaimer once again- I am not saying he is half the DL that Reggie was. Just pointing out that a DE can have a tremendous impact on the outcome.)
Likewise there have been many NT that had a huge impact on the game. When he was at the top of his game, the Gravedigger did a fantastic job. It was great to see him stop the run up the middle 3 times after the other team drove all the way down the field and had 1st and goal, 2nd and goal, 3rd and goal and then ended up kicking a FG. (A few of which were missed.)

Will he end up playing more at DE or NT? No one knows including the coaching staff. Will he be worthy of including his name with the all time great DLmen? No one knows. We will have to wait and see.

In the thread he was referring to only 1 person made a post that could be considered "hate" towards Raji so the statement about everyone hating him was false. In this thread that person hasn't posted so the statement about how now everyone thinks he is god is false. I think to have a point you have to actually be right about something and using words like "everyone" just makes him sound like a clueless hater.
