Rock, I watch your avatar and keep waiting for April O'neil to rip the steering wheel off the van. One of these times, she's gonna do it!

with Breno being inactive. I think that they might want to get another guard. Maybe push Colledge a little, as well.

It still amazes me that Breno has a roster spot.. he must have some filth on Mike McCarthy , Thompson or something.

So is Micheangelo.

But you'll have a better chance of seeing her get kidnapped. And again. And again. And most likely a couple of more times.

Man, I used to love the turtles.

Now she's just a woman who's yanking a steering wheel like an idiot.

Anyway, so do I, Pack93. He might have potential, but why do you get this kid on your roster, instead of Jamon? Meredith had quite some more potential, albeit maybe a bit rougher, than Breno. And Breno's never actually active, anyway.

Just my opinion, of course.

Don't look for the #Packers to fill Jake Allen's spot on the 53 this week. Likely will stay open for a bit, unless there's an injury issue.

Browns claimed linebacker Arnold Harrison on waivers from Pittsburgh and claimed wide receiver Jake Allen on waivers from Green Bay.

I'm down with a Punter being signed. Never hurts to have... TWO ... punters on the roster.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

Oh, great. That's another memory I had safely buried. That was one of the last straws for me with Mike Sherman as a general manager.

Trading up in the draft to take a punter in the 3rd round, giving up a 5th rd pick--Did Mike get an insider tip that a team was going to draft him before the Packers next pick? If so, they must have been laughing "Hey, if we tell Sherman, maybe he'll..."

And then Sherman compounded the problem by not admitting his mistake and carrying two punters all year, with BJ Sanders inactive because Sherman was afraid he wouldn't clear waivers if he cut him and tried to sign him to the practice squad.

Thanks, Z2C, for THAT reminder...

If they go 5 wide at receiver, Finley can line up as the 5th guy assuming everyone is able to play. Is Hackendorf still on the Lions practice squad? Why not pluck him back away from them?

not a big news but i wonder who is the 5th receiver (byron early???) and who is gonna fill his spot

Here is one possibility.. another possibility... a punter?

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/ic/blogs/insider/index.shtml

The Packers likely will try to re-sign Allen back to the practice squad. They did not announce any move for filling Allen's roster spot. Depending on the status of linebackers Brady Poppinga (quad), Aaron Kampman (concussion) and Brandon Chillar (broken hand), one possibility could be elevating rookie Cyril Obiozor from the practice squad.

"pack93z" wrote:

I'd love to see Obiozor. Word from camp was that Obiozor was a beast getting to the QB, but was real raw. Maybe he's coming along now...

Breno was a "bigger stronger" type guy. Meredith had alot of potential, but he was going to (theoretically) need a year to bulk up. He also raised eyebrows by pulling himself out of drills during training camp.
Guess he's doing all right starting for the Bills, though.
I'd have loved to have kept Meredith, and we might have even been better off, but damn. If it means scrapping the "smaller quicker" Olinemen, so be it.

dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
