they can't afford to really let him work his way through this.

So why not stash him on IR? He had a lingering ab strain for weeks -- oops, he reaggravated it in practice. His salary is guaranteed for the rest of the season anyway, so they don't gain anything by cutting him.

Let's settle down a little with Mason. He is a hell of a kicker who is in a funk. He will come out of it.

Who are you going to bring in if you cut him or put him on IR. Folk if and when he gets released? his misses have been worse than Crosby.

Who else is out there? Do they have as good of a leg? do they have the same upside potential?

If Rodgers went into a funk, would you want to toss him to the curb and start Flynn or get a free agent?

Remember what happened last year when we made a knee jerk decision regarding Ryan our punter?

Yeah I remember that well. We cut a punter that in 2007, had the best net average of any Packers punter in over 20 years, and was coming off an excellent pre season. Then signed someone with half of his ability. Then kept him on the roster for 3 months even though it was obvious to anyone with a brain that he couldn't get the job done.

Yeah I remember that.

You can't tell me that there isn't a kicker out there that can make a 35 yard field goal.

Actually, his 30-40 yard fg % is on par with hist historic numbers. Where he is really struggling is the 40-50 and 50+

That being said, his success percentage from 40-50 this year is slightly less than his rookie year 57% - 64%. and his 50+ is really down from rookie year 20% compared to 60%.

And there was a kicker that can hit from 35 don't you think they would already been employed? Hell, when Redskins Suisham got booted they signed a guy that kicked in some obscure football league....no NFL experience at all.

What I see is that he is still making solid contact. Unlike Suisham and Folk's trials.
