Nick looks better every game. Missing time with that injury seems to have made him realize how much he loves to play, and he is making the most of it.

I'd still take Hawk over Barnett. Call me crazy.

This season? I guess you could.

Over their careers? I don't see how. Maybe his rookie year, but I'm not even sure about that. Barnett has been such a solid player for so long, we're just being spoiled at the MLB position.

My opinion of Barnett has never deviated. He is a good solid linebacker, that's it. He is well compensated for his play and I find his samurai celebration after a routine tackle Mickey Mouse.

Barnett thinks he is superstar, yet when it comes time to make the All Pro tackle for loss on third down, he often whiffs on the play. If some of you want to make him into this superstar, that's fine, I'm just not buying it.

I am happy though and think the Packers are fortunate that his play is coming around as is the health of his knee.

You're crazy.

Nick Barnett is better than AJ Hawk. If we had to trade one away, I'd much rather lose Hawk.

It is interesting to hear these comments from Woodson. After the cowboys game I was talking about Woodson being the leader of this team based on his performance but maybe it is Barnett based on his work ethic.

I think effective leadership on both sides of the ball by the players will go a long way to fixing our issue of inconsistency that we have seen over the past several weeks.

I know that I am not always rah rah Barnett.. but I have to give him props on his one stop for a loss.. he blew past the blocker and made a stick.. that is what I expect out of inside linebackers on a consistent basis.

But Hawk and he both got buried on Gore's on big run.. Barnett avoided contact and Hawk got handled by the fullback with ease... you get beat sometimes so I won't bang on their helmets too much. Solid players.

Gore is a dang good runner. Tough to bring down. I enjoy watching him.

I really enjoyed watching Barnett's solid tackling of Gore. I'm telling you Pack, he's underrated.

As far as comparing Hawk and Barnett, they both have their ups and downs and it showed in the San Fran game. Sometimes they were there and sometimes they weren't.

I think Barnett is becoming a better player coming off a bad injury. I was against him at the beginning of the year because he had lackluster play. He has been making some big plays here and there.

Just think, it could be worse. Packers fans are spoiled at the linebacker position so when one of them have a mediocre performance we get all pissy.

FYI - Nick Barnett is currently leading the Green Bay Packers with 62 total tackles. Hawk is in 2nd place with 50 and Woody is in 3rd.

Barnett is 4th on the team with 3 sacks. He's in 2nd place for LBs with 4 passes defensed (Matthews is leading our LB squad with 5).

He doesn't have an INT yet but that will hopefully change soon.

beast (21-Apr) : I haven't looked into the QBs, but some have suggested Maye has some of the most extremely inconsistent tape they've seen
beast (21-Apr) : Well it also sounds like Patriots are listening to trade offers, not that seriously considering any, but listening means they aren't locked
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Maye needs to be AFC
Mucky Tundra (21-Apr) : Not liking the idea of the Vikings getting Maye
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Vikings HC joked that he may or may not have sent flowers to Bob Kraft. That's where rumor came from.
beast (21-Apr) : Can't tell if this is real or BS, but some rumors about a possible Patriots/Vikings trade for #3 overall
dfosterf (21-Apr) : One playbook to my knowledge. I was shooting for facetious.
beast (20-Apr) : I'm not sure they have different playbooks for different OL positions, and Dillard run blocking is supposedly worse than his pass blocking..
dfosterf (19-Apr) : The only problem with that is he isn't a guard either.
dfosterf (19-Apr) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Went to a Titans board. One comment there. Not very long. I quote: "LOL" They don't sound overly upset about our aquisition.
beast (18-Apr) : OT Dillard has been absolutely horrible... like OG Newman levels
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Suit him up and have him stand in front of the big board as a draft day cautionary tale.
