I am surprised at the Bush hate I am hearing.

I thought Bush had a decent game this past week (against the Lions - I know) . I want to give him a chance. Maybe he won't drop those footballs thrown right at him next time. GB also has penty of experience and talent at the defensive back position that he can look up to to get better. We just don't have time to make this a lengthy expriment.

Well let's start by saying he dropped a pass that hit him in the numbers. His "coverage" is letting the player go past him and then flail around in front of said player praying that receiver also drops as good as Bush himself. He simply can not cover a good receiver. A "decent" game against the Lions is pathetic. Bush is not our long term or short term guy.

I agree that he has to catch the ball when given those opportunities but I am pleased that he has been in position a few times to make the interception.

Any defensive backs is going to get burned every now and then but he has to minimize this to be acceptable as well as not cause too many defensive penalties; which was Carrol's biggest issue. I think Bush played respectable last week and am willing to give him one last chance. Its not like we have many other choices.

Sorry to say but like it or not Jarret Bush is the short term guy. Read LeRoy Butlers analysis of the game.
He has it right says Bush was signed as a ST player and an emergency db.

LeRoy gives him a pass until now, said Bush should be Woody's shadow this week learning how to become a ball hawking corner.

I said this in the other thread, I know Bush is one of the most hated Packers on this team, but he is now being given a chance to prove he can be that nickel cb.

Let's see how well he does now that he knows what his role is going to be and has had 10 days to get ready.

One last thing..how many interceptions has Collins dropped just this year? These guys are playing in the db for a reason, they aren't receivers.

I am not expecting Bush to be another Harris out there, but IMHO he will be solid and will get the job done.

Bush actually covers quite well when he does get on a receiver, but has zero ball skills, something I used to complain about Collins a lot. But I was not deterred by his play this last game, encouraged in fact.

I saw him get his ankles broken on too many double moves last week to have any confidence in him this week. I hope I'm wrong.

And just look how Collings turned out, he's the biggest ball hawk on the team. Behind Woodson, of course. And I'm more confident when he's on a 4th receiver than having a guy like Bush or Underwood on him.

I think that Bush has great potential. He's shown that we have a solid base to build on, training-wise. I have nothing but trust in our DB coaches. If anyone can learn him how to play the ball more, it's a combination of Woodson, Harris and our coaches.

Mucky Tundra (21-Apr) : Not liking the idea of the Vikings getting Maye

dfosterf (21-Apr) : One playbook to my knowledge. I was shooting for facetious.
beast (20-Apr) : I'm not sure they have different playbooks for different OL positions, and Dillard run blocking is supposedly worse than his pass blocking..
dfosterf (19-Apr) : The only problem with that is he isn't a guard either.
