I think Brett plays for sure this year and retires. I don't see him playing in 2011.

I think alot depends on what happens this year.
If he has a winning year, he will be with the Queens in 2011.
If he crashes and burns,....................he will be the Detroit Lions starting qb in 2011.
LOL!

The thing is......i do NOT hate Brett favre. Not one bit.
I refuse to cheer for him while he is a member of the Vikings (or any other team). But i still like him. I'd LOVE to sit and talk with him. I bet he'd be a HOOT to be with.
I can't blame him for wanting attention. problem is, when he finally DOES retire, it's gonna be a HUGE shock to him, as all his "friends" (and reporters) run off to the next "big story".

I think Favre will retire for real in 2 or 3 years when Peyton Manning is on the decline and thinking retirement.

Yep. I has said for a few years that he is motivated by what Manning does. He doesn't want to lose any of his records so soon.
Of course HE says that he is not motivated by records at all.
Yeah right. ::roll: Uh Huh.

Plus he makes like 30 - 40 million with his endoresements per year. Who the hell in their right mind would turn that down to do something they love?

Exactly my thoughts. He has to put his records out of Manning's reach.

By the way, there were 2 NFL players who didn't care so much about the records - Walter Payton and Barry Sanders.

I think pretty much everyone else did. Marino's so bummed his records were lost he got fat.

Brett told Sports Illustrated that he did care about the records. He said something about what ones meant the most to him. Tops was the QB consecutive streak. He did say they don't mean anything to him if he doesn't win a championship though.

The point is ... Brett does like the records and they do mean something to him, he's admitted it.

Yeah.. but it takes more than getting / keepin records to motivate someone to play another year at the age of 41. There are a ton of other factors that decide one's actions. Are the records a factor? Of course. But records alone will not motivate ANYONE to come back to the game.

I guess we are discussing his love of records because for YEARS he denied (lied) about caring about his records. I personally don't mind it, as long as you man up and admit it.
I use to laugh at Pete Rose. He could tell you every one of his stats off the top of his head. If he went 2-4 in a game, he could tell you what his new batting avg was. And where is was in relationship to the other hitting leaders.
But it is just annoying to see a guy look at the camera and say "I am not motivated by records" and then go out and play the game even it is not in the best interest of the team to do so.

Zero2Cool (47m) : Boom! Davante Adams says last year's ankle injury "more difficult to deal with'
uffda udfa (3h) : Packers brass potentially leaving? Not worthy of discussing. Pressure Cooker? Never enough talk about them.
Zero2Cool (9h) : Put Quintorris in a pressure cooker.
uffda udfa (13h) : Back to football: Julio says he's going to play Sunday. Did NOT say he wouldn't be limited in the game.
uffda udfa (13h) : Anyone ever used their dishwasher to make their Thanksgiving turkey?
uffda udfa (13h) : Favorite Ronnie Milsap song? Smokey Mountain Rain or Any Day Now?
uffda udfa (17h) : Favorite GM candidate... Wolf or Gutekunst?
uffda udfa (17h) : I'd rather sit them than play them too compromised.
uffda udfa (17h) : Yeah, Z. More pressure cooker talk and smoked turkeys.
Zero2Cool (17h) : If this were a regular-season game, Nelson, Adams and Allison probably would not play, MM says.
Smokey (18h) : Mason Crosby is ill, hope it's not the Flu.
Smokey (18h) : Great, can we move past that story and get back to the Atlanta game ?
Zero2Cool (18h) : Packers exec Eliot Wolf has withdrawn his name for 49ers' GM job, as @TomPelissero reported. He didn't feel it was the right time.
TheKanataThrilla (19h) : We'll just have to score TDs then.
Zero2Cool (19h) : That's what we know.
Zero2Cool (19h) : Crosby, Mason K Illness
Smokey (20h) : Is He ill or not ?
Smokey (20h) : Raiderpride asked, "Anyone know what Crosby's illness is?"
Zero2Cool (20h) : Davante Adams expected to play- KFFL
Porforis (21h) : Alright, my opinion on Jordy has changed. If he's medically cleared to play, play him.
hardrocker950 (22h) : By Sunday we won't have any WRs
Zero2Cool (23h) : Geronimo hamstring, Janis quad. BEAUTIFUL.
Smokey (23h) : Mason Crosby, is his health OK ?
Smokey (23h) : Hello
FLORIDA PACKER88 (23h) : Davis, G-Mo, and Janis will need to step up, but all three did score last time we played ATL!
FLORIDA PACKER88 (23h) : Does Janis become a playoff hero second year in a row? Looks we're gonna have to find out either way regardless. Thank God for a healthy Cob
Smokey (23h) : Is Mason Crosby's health OK ?
Smokey (19-Jan) : What's in your Coffee ?
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Sit Davante if he has a bad ankle. We remember 2015.
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Davante is not going to practice until SAT at earliest.
