I hope we beat the crap out of him twice this season. Hope Matthews or Barnett nails him a good one so we can injure him for at least a game to break his streak. (Streak broken by the team that started it all.)

Like him or hate Brett's good for the NFL. Just look at any football forum to prove it when all he does is returns and instantly 10 threads per forum are started. I always laugh cause so many people say they don't care about him and yet he's always in conversation

He returned? He left?

I thought he just ended his "holdout" and arrived to Vikings headquarters. :)

So has Favre been fined for holding out? He never was placed on the Reserve/Retired list as far as I know.

Maybe they should have sent Madden and King down to Hattiesburg. This may have been done weeks and weeks ago.

Actually, I don't think teams will get away with the strategy the Saints used in the Super Bowl. I think they'll get flagged if they do (and IMO should). Especially early in the season.

A lot of things get let go in the SuperBowl that don't get let go in the regular season. And while this may be a bit of a conspiracy theory, I think the Saints got away with a bit extra because of the "making history" PR line (first ever super bowl, post-katrina, etc).

Beating the crap of Favre has been tried many times. What was different about the Saints is they were willing to flirt with crossing the line (if not outright ignoring it) a lot more. I don't think that is going to be replicable, especially with the "icon" thing operating, in the regular season.

If I were a betting man, I'd put money on this: if the Saints "go after Favre" in week 1 the way they did in the championship game and the way they went after Manning in the Superbowl, they'll get flagged early and often.

See, what ever happened to protecting your teammates? Honestly, if I see guys on another team going after my quarterback the way they did, there wouldnt' be anything to stop me from doing something crazy. If im on defense, i'm taking out YOUR quarterback. If i'm on the offense, I'm gonna give that guy a crack back at his knees or rip his helmet off and F&*% him up big time. Theres no way i'd let that stuff go. I guess the Vikings are full of fumblers and gutless purple pansies.

I'm not at all surprised he's back.
That said, i'm GLAD we will get another shot or 2 at him. Yes, he came out on top last year......but this is THIS year. I think we have alot better chance this season.
I don't want any cheap shots. I don't want to see him hurt. I do want him bruised.....especially his ego.

Too bad they don't have a shot at the BACK of his shirt. It says:
"Wait......let me think about it some more......Yup! I'm gonna just DO it!.....uh.......no.....I'm NOT gonna do it! Aw, heck.....maybe i will! No.....i'm sure this time. NOT gonna...i mean AM gonna...uh....."

Apparently the Vikings were getting word that Brett was again swaying towards retiring. They sent three of his closest friends on the team to spend the night at his house. Which they per Ryan Longwell they did. It wasn't until the morning that Brett finally said yes.

Brett will say he didn't come back for the money, then say 'would you turn down extra money?' and most surely will say the money will help his foundation greatly, which it will. That is, if it comes out that his contract was redone.

Basically, the Vikings felt their QB slipping away and pulled out the stops to get him into camp.

Remember a few years ago what Ted Thompson said about a player that needs to be coerced into playing? And what others said about that very thing? Interesting, huh?

Nonstopdrivel (1h) : Provocative tests on scene are pretty sensitive. If they fear his ACL is torn, it probably is.
Zero2Cool (1h) : He has an ACL? I only heard there were running tests ... tomorrow.
Nonstopdrivel (1h) : Depends on which Nick Foles arises from the ashes. If it's the 2013 Foles, Eagles could still be a powerhouse.
