I knew weeks ago that Favre was coming back.
I was in Minnesota, and was driving past their practice facilities.
A guy was making a special delivery. I noticed it was several boxes of "Depends". So i KNEW Brett was coming back.

Yes, but for who were they for? Favre or Childress?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I also want to know what was in that pail Favre was carrying when he got out of Longwell's car.

They were for Favre. The problem they are having is this: Getting the players and fans out of Favre's BUTT long enough for him to put one on.

He carrys that around in case he has to "go". You know, old people can't hold it for long.
Thus the need for the "Depends" i stated earlier.

The pail was empty. It was to carry the extra 3 million of cash that the Vikings are gonna pay him. Thats how Favre gets paid. Straight cash homey

Well twelve pages and [strike]God[/strike] Kevin knows how many merged threads later I thought I would throw in my two cents. This is going to be a long post so I hope someone reads it all, and if nothing else reads the end where I actually try and add something that hasn't been touched on.

First, I am laughing at the Vikings for their perceived desperation at bringing back Favre. Why? Well, I am a Packer fan and hell any chance I get to view the Vikings' actions into something laughable (whether it is or isn't) I'll take.

I don't blame them for passing on McNabb. I would have held out for Favre too. There is no excuse though for passing on young promising talent at the quarterback position unless they felt it would hurt Favre's feelings/ego OR didn't like the quarterback pool available in the draft. As a Packer fan I'm going to go with the former for no logical reason other than it fits well with my desire to laugh at the Vikings.

But aside from the Vikings and their (lack) of dignity in this whole matter, Favre could also be perceived as lacking dignity in the whole matter. I can honestly say it's not such a far stretch to imagine him playing the Vikings like puppets. "Dance for me my pretty," until he's satisfied with all the hoops the Vikings have jumped through and he's had his fun and will come back (conveniently well into spring training and the preseason).

On the other hand, maybe last year's loss is eating at him and talking to some of his team mates has made him really feel he owes it to them and wants to bring them to that next level of success. Again, as a Packer fan I am going with the former for no other logical reason other than I want to laugh at the Vikings.

I don't know how these scenarios have actually panned out but I do know I have enjoyed the 12 pages debating them.

Yet, do you know who I think has really come out well in this thread? In spite of being a Packer fan I am going with Formo, ignoring my desire to laugh at the Vikings. You come across a lot like my room mate for this coming year who unfortunately is also a Viking fan but shares many of the same views. For all our talk about how this impacts the Queens locker room and fan base, us Packer fans still get really heated and passionate about our Favre discussions and you can't help but laugh at the irony of it all. That said, Jared Allen is a twat-waffle and I will hold everything he says against him because I hate him beyond the bounds of any reason or logic (even if I would say the same thing about putting a helmet into an opposing player's back... it's what NFL legends like Chuck Bednarik would say, or do in his case).

Aside from commenting on some of the ideas already brought up about Favre I just wanted to pose this thought. Favre is one of the most emotional players we have seen, and probably will see in our life time. He can play so dominantly (or dom if you guys prefer your sexual references) when he is on these emotional highs. Look no further than his game against Oakland after his father died. I think playing Green Bay for the first time, and returning to Lambeau for the first time inspired the same sort of emotional highs and produced some of his very best. I think he could stay play very well against us this year. But, ignoring the whole "Saints created a blueprint" bullcrap, I don't think he'll have that same emotional charge against us, and for that reason might not be nearly as effective.

mi_keys, I read it all. You owe me two minutes of my life that I want back!

Kidding ... good read. I think we're passionate about Favre because its hard to remember a time without him for a good portion of us and we all have a memory with Favre in it, especially if you're a Packers fan.

Formo would screw his sister if it helped the Vikings so bleh on him. You know what I'm talking bout!!

uffda udfa (21h) : I knew what you were saying and I loved it! From a production standpoint it was worse than college radio. It had Aaron which made it worth
Zero2Cool (21h) : I wouldn't know good radio if it sat on my face, but I know what I find informational and worthwhile. Tuesday with Aaron, was both.
Zero2Cool (21h) : I am saying my zero experience in radio > your whatever years. :D Bahahahahah
uffda udfa (21h) : Ha! Yeah, I only was involved in making good radio for 8 years. Don't know a thing.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Yeah, I'm not surprised I know good radio better than you. Not a big deal, you have your strengths, radio isn't one.
uffda udfa (27-Aug) : We have very different tastes. I worked in radio for many years. Thought the show was so much worse than it needed to be.
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : NFL Pick'em v2.0 is here!
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : Wilde was great choice and if not for Jason's rapport with Aaron, never would have happened.
uffda udfa (26-Aug) : I never caught it live...listened to podcast a few times. Wilde was the wrong guy for that show.
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : That was poorly worded, my mistake. I was regular, it was great peak into his life. Planned meetings around it lol
uffda udfa (26-Aug) : As for Tuesday's with Aaron I did listen, but I wasn't a regular.
Smokey (26-Aug) : Anyone seen Polargrizzz lately, he's AWOL !
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : If you listened to them, Aaron urged them to go past the 10 minutes. Jason would be an idiot to cut it off.
uffda udfa (26-Aug) : The contract stated 10 minutes but the show always went longer. Sounds like 540 took advantage and perhaps he got sick of it.
uffda udfa (26-Aug) : As for Aaron's radio show, sounds like he just didn't want to do it and they took too much of his time. Was only supposed to be 10 minutes.
Smokey (26-Aug) : Don't worry, be WR happy !
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : WR!!
uffda udfa (25-Aug) : LeRoy Butler and Finley want TT to add a WR. Silverstein wrote a piece on it, including Rison mention. Let's get this!
uffda udfa (25-Aug) : The WHY is the big story, but that hasn't come out yet.
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : noooooooooooooooooooo!
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : Aaron is done? Why????
uffda udfa (25-Aug) : If you liked "Tuesday's with Aaron" he's not doing it this year. He's done.
Zero2Cool (23-Aug) : Tolzien being evaluated for concussion. What?
