Well the season is over. We got knocked out of the playoffs in the first game. Final score 17 - 21. The guys played hard but we had an injury to our star running back and he wasn't able to play. My son was playing a great first half and was a major contributer in stopping the run. First play of the second half he went in as Full back and was lead blocker on a run up the middle. After the play he remained on the ground for a while. He was knocked unconcious and sufferred a mild concussion. He didn't go back in the rest of the game. The other team took advantage of his back up and started successfully running it up the middle. It was close but our guys couldn't hold on.
It was a hard fought game and we came up short. It has been a great season full of suprises. My son is fine and will take the rest of the weekend off just resting.
Thanks to all for the nice comments and the funnies throughout this thread.
Later DGB

Glad he even played this season. Had a good time and a good year. Sorry for his season to end so quickly. I am pleased that the coach was smart enuf to keep him out of the game after teh concussion. My younger brother played most of a game with a concussion. Since he rarely came out of the game (even for special teams) the coaches didn't know until the 2nd half. 25 years later he still doesn't remember much of the game. |

Him and his team are taking the day off of school tomorrow and just kicking back at a friends house. They deserve some time off. He appears fine today. WPR...My son also can't remember some of the game. He said he remembers the whole first half and the last couple minutes of the 4th qtr. I guess he was saying some goofy stuff sitting on the bench after they brought him off the field. I will tell him congrats for you Cheesey and thanks for the kind words WPR.

And the Bears.....man......that Orton is gonna win the MVP this year!" :cyclopsani: :thumbright: |

Just didn't want the memory loss to upset you. My brother got his MBA from Northwestern's business school. He has been a CFO for several mid sized companies. No sign of any long term problems. |

Don't know who the Warriors are. He called one of his coaches a "queer" because he kept sitting by him on the bench asking him how he was. He doesn't remember any of this.

Funny stuff. Since he has a year to go I hope the coach gives him a hard time about that next year during the two a days. |

Fortunatly that injury turned out not to be as bad as we first feared. He was able to compete at a high level this season. In fact we just got the news he made 1st team all conference.
