Did they get the whole tumor. That is 99% of the battle.

I'd assume so as they said the surgery went better than expected. I'm also assuming they'll do another scan to be sure nothing has spread past the liver before chemo, but I could be wrong.

My whole family is with you in spirit on this one Formo. You may find some extra spirituality with this experience buddy, as handling this disease has less to do with toughness and more to do with prayer, faith, and courage. Good luck man and PM me if you want to discuss anything else.

I seen "Daddy - 1" I felt bad instantly, but then realize you were saying Dad 1, C 0. I seen the negative symbol and that's what got me.

Hope all is getting gooder.

So a bit of an update.. Dad went in to the oncologist today to get the gameplan. Starting next Friday his treatments will be an every other Friday deal. An IV drug will be infused in the arm. In addition he'll be taking 4 pills twice a day for a week, then alternating weeks taking them (a week on, a week off). Depending on how his body takes to the drugs, he may or may not need the nausea IV. They are going to play that by ear. With his work situation and doctors schedules, every other Friday is ideal. That way he'll have Friday, Saturday and Sunday to recover from the treatments then he can work Mon-Thurs.

The regimen will continue until the tumors shrink (or just cease to exist as we are believing), and he'll get check ups every 4-6 weeks to check progress.

Keep the prayers/thought up. He's been really positive about this, even be saying that losing is not an option nor in the cards. He knows he has an outstanding support group in family and friends.. and even start getting emails from the University of Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill (a cancer survivor himself). He also knows that many of ya'll have been giving him prayers/thoughts and appreciates it greatly.

It is wonderful that he has so much support from his family and friends.

Tell the old man to hang in there Formo. Mia has another round going this week so we're in the hospital again until Wednesday.

Well, my uncle (one of my dad's brothers) and my dad have set up a blog at blogspot for those that are interested in keeping up with updates instead of my dad emailing a million addresses to the family. So I figured I'd post it here as well for those that are interested.
