You can write a PHP script and upload it off maliciously and it'll use the phpMailer function to send emails. I'm not using the host's email server at all with this site. I'm using a special account I set up specifically for the site so I can monitor every email traffic in and out. The host realized it wasn't my fault the first time and put the site back up. If I had pushed to the top again I probably could have got it going again, but I figure, if the site is sending spam, do I really want it up? I'd rather not have my site at all, then have a site that spams folks with emails. |
