If there are any nerds on this board that wanna talk Skyrim, let's do it. We are within a month of this ultra-epic game coming out. The Pack are 5-0 and probably the most anticipated games of the past 5 years is coming out, Life is good!

Screw Gears! While 3rd person shooters are fun for 6 hours they always become stagnate(halos excluded due to popularity). Zero check skyrim out I bet you enjoy it. Nerds and geeks unite pal! |

Halo was a first-person shooter. What is a third-person shooter anyway?
And the name Skyrim is about as amusing to me as the label on my wife's bottle of rimming sugar. |

As for Skyrim, it's probably gonna be really good, but I don't: a) have the time for a lot of games and this doesn't make the cut b) the setting of Elder Scrolls game don't interest me |

I'll have to look into Skyrim. Right now I've just finished AC: Brotherhood and casually working on getting 100% synch done and playing a little bit of City of Heroes: Freedom (free version) with some friends.
Rourke, 3rd person shooters are exactly that.. A shooting game with the camera above and behind the character. That Mass Effect 2 video is a good clip of a 3rd person shooter.
I know it's a bit off, but I'm actually waiting in anticipation for AC:Revelations to come out. I'm hooked on that storyline. |
Thanks to TheViking88 for the sig!! |

Forget all this gaming b.s. I want to talk about how great the OP's avatar is. |
None of the above. It wouldn't have been a wasted vote. Obama and Romney -- Those were the wasted votes. |

You are correct on the first/third person mistake I made. But for the record mass effect is considered an rpg not a third person shooter. I thought maybe someone would like to talk about SKYRIM and not everything else, my bad. Go ahead and delete the thread Zero since I'm the only nerd on this board. |

Just because you may be the only Skyrim aficionado on this board does not mean you are the only nerd on this board.
By the way, I don't think threads ever truly stay on topic here. |

Formo if you have the patience for Assasins Creed then you should have no problem with Skyrim. Granted it is a risky move since they will have nothing in common playability wise. |

I know Zombie, you agree with me again!!!!!!!!!! I'd like to know why you think gaming and sex are mutually exclusive. Well I wouldn't call either of the Mass Effect games released thus far true "RPG games". More like 3rd person shooters with deep RPG elements. But I can see why people call it an RPG over a shooter, after all the story and narrative are a much bigger part of the game than the gameplay and combat. Regardless, best video game series ever. If any gamer here is into sci-fi and hasn't played Mass Effect they seriously need to go get it. |

Sex and gaming may not be mutually exclusive, but I'd be willing to be a decent sum there is a rather strong negative correlation between frequency of gaming and frequency of sex across the gamer population. Edited by member Sunday, October 16, 2011 7:12:29 AM(UTC)

That's probably true. All I can say for certain is that I play more than the average joe and I have girlfriend with whom I will spend the rest of my life with. |
