The Walker trade is still a shining example of being opposite of the Vikings efforts to build a championship team.
First it is the number of championships that it produced.
Second is that Walker was a pro bowl running back. The Cowboys traded him for a chance to build a great D and O-line. Then they put a plodding RB who would run into the line and fall down behind them.
The formula for success is, top 5 passing game, top 5 passing D and about a 16th ranked running game. That is what wins the super bowl on average.
Since there is not a direct correlation to RB rank and post season success, having a great running back doesn't increase the odds of winning a post season game.
Right now, regardless of who the QB is, the O-line in Minnesota is not going to win the team anything. |

I think the Steve Walsh trade helped as well. That was another two 1st rounders and I believe a 3rd rounder. |

San Francisco traded quarterback Tom Owen, two first-round picks in 1976, and first- and second-round picks in 1977 for Jim Plunkett
San Francisco dealt second- and third-round picks in 1978, first- and fourth-round picks in 1979, and a second-round pick in 1980 for O.J. Simpson.
It's crazy to think how many teams have had these lopsided trades. |

Building a winner starts with the GM putting in place the right guy at Quarterback. That is step 1 and the Vikings have never learned that. It is incredible the amount of wasted talent that has gone through that franchise because they didn't have the great player at the number 1 position.
Packer fans should consider themselves the luckiest fvckers on the planet. Just cleaning house. Nick is an asshole, not a dumbass, by any stretch of the imagination. |
damn skippy I'm an owner. I currently own a full .00001924537805515393 % of the Green Bay Packers. |
