Thanks for the link, but next time can you add more than one line please? Geez ... what you think this place is a hot link bed for every other website out there? :P lol
Ahman Green said:I've got at least five years left in me to play football. I came into the league in special teams and I'd have no problem doing that again. Playing special teams in kickoff coverage, punt coverage. Just put me anywhere. I'm a football player first. That's something my dad always reminded me. 'You're a football player, not just a running back.'
I'll say what everyone is going to say ... Special Teams is for young guys learning the ropes, not old guys not able to let go. I am genuinely concerned for Ahman Green because it's clear he has not found something to take the place of football in his life.

When was the last time the Vikings placed a cornerback on the all pro team?

I love the way he ran, too. Hard. Angry. Always looking downfield for someone to hit.
That was too long ago, though. He's 35. From a morale standpoint, we might as well cut every other running back on the team if we sign him.
Sorry, Ahman.

Not sure the joy you would get from the Vikings scoring points in the double-digits against the Packers is worth the roster spot.

If we needed a guy, I'd give him a shot.
Like that one year when Grant appeared out of nowhere in week 10. If it was a situation like that, I'd let him come in and see what he could do.
There might be a team out there for him. Then again, Grant only got a couple looks and he's much younger.

Green had the rare combination of outstanding strength and size combined with outstanding speed; and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He was a monster, and underpaid in Green Bay for his production. For a five year stretch, he was the top back in the league and it was in Favre's prime too - where are our Lombardis for that era? It still pisses me off to this day what a pussy Sherman was in controlling the Diva.
Thankfully, the Sherminator paid Green to come to Houston to be on IR for two years - and Green should not need to play football anymore. It was considered one of the top ten worst free agent signings of all time.
I would have an aneurism if the Packers signed Ahman Green right now.

When you throw in these, I find it difficult to put Ahman Green in the top ten, lol.
- Albert Haynesworth
- Joe Johnson
- Neil O'Donnell
- Alvin Harper
- Dale Carter (Broncos)
- Scott Mitchell
- Nate Odoms (Seahawks)
- Jeff Garcia (Browns)
- Chuck Smith
- Dana Stubblefield (Redskins)
- David Boston
- Andre Rison (Browns)
- Yancey Thigpen
- Deion Sander (Redskins)
- Gabe Wilkins
- Larry Brown
- Lawrence Phillips (failed block ended Steve Youngs career)

I think Green was on the NFL network's top ten list for bad free agent signings. They called him a thief and he should have been sent to prison.

The same NFL Network that has Tim Tebow ranked higher than Hall of Famer's? Let me think of how much stock I put into that ...
