It will also require Dom Capers to stop being so predictable. The Niners figured out Capers early. Not acceptable.

Not completely a surprise, though. The 49ers D coordinator has been on teams with Capers 3 times (total of 11 years): NO (86-91), Carolina (95-98, as Capers D coordinator), and Houston (02-05, again as Capers D coordinator). If there's anybody out there who could predict Capers tendencies, it would be Vic Fangio.

Both defenses run about the same scheme. Only different is the 9ers have the personnel and years of experienced players under the system. I don't think we are predictable at all TBH. The only thing is the zone coverage but that's more of us not having the ability to cover down the field aside from Tramon.

It drives me crazy how they even line up. Talking to my buddy that was at the game yesterday said that the CB's are standing at the first down marker on 1st and 10 plays. Guys are wide open over the middle constantly...Imagine that. You don't even need to be a football genius to figure that one out

Dom Capers has been with the Packers longer than the 49ers coaches have been with the 49ers.

Yep, we play too deep and give too much of a cushion. Either we cant play man anymore or there isnt much faith that the help over the top will be there. The contributing factor is the time opposing QBs have to find the soft spots. Still not happy with the pressure on QBs, but it WAS admittedly better than NY game.

Too bad Capers can't figure out Fangio.

Exactly. That means Fangio is smarter than Capers.

I'd rather Capers focus on their OC, not their DC. It's too bad McCarthy and Clements couldn't figure out Fangio. I wonder if the Packers can trade next years 1st round pick for him.

What really killed the Packers here was 5.8 yards per rush.

Plays like giving up a 1st down to the run on 2nd and 15 the play after getting a sack. Those plays make me yell at the TV. And the TV is a dick and just takes the high road and never says anything back.

thanks Post received 3 applause.

A sack SHOULD kill a drive. You have no idea how angry I got on that first down after getting that sack.

Capers in 2010 was mean and nasty. In 2011, he was passive and weak. The first game of 2012 looked just like 2011.

In 2010, a sack WOULD HAVE killed a drive.

It's like we got a completely different DC than we had in 2010. WTH?

Smokey (4h) : Hello Cheesey !
GoPack1984 (7h) : I hope not. Please be something like 41-28 Packers.
uffda udfa (8h) : I agree with Chmura. This looks like a double 40 burger.
uffda udfa (8h) : The hug on the sidelines?
uffda udfa (8h) : What seemed so emotional?
Zero2Cool (8h) : No, but I am curious why that seemed so emotional. I might be reading into it too much.
uffda udfa (8h) : Anyone ever get confused looking at Alex Van Pelt thinking it's MM?
uffda udfa (10h) : I hope they aren't going to dial it down believing in destiny .
Zero2Cool (10h) : Jason Wilde: Packers "feel like a team of destiny"
uffda udfa (12h) : They'll need all the Julio Joneses they can get.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Chmura: "I'll tell you this: Atlanta's going to score 40 points. They are. The #Packers are going to have to score 41."
Zero2Cool (17h) : Damn-Falcons coach Dan Quinn tells reporters that WR Julio Jones (foot) will be limited this week but will be “ready to rock” on Sunday.
Zero2Cool (18h) : Packers defense has a red zone INT in each of the last 3 games... Hyde with two of them. (One being the clutch 4thQ INT vs DET in Week 17)
Zero2Cool (19h) : Randall Cobb, Damarious Randall, Quentin Rollins, James Starks, Clay Matthews, Ty Montgomery & Jared Cook. OUT
Zero2Cool (19h) : Packers inactive list when they lost 33-32 to the Falcons week 8.

Smokey (20h) : Zero, I believe that you and some others place too much emphasis upon data. no harm intended.
Zero2Cool (20h) : It’s the 1st time since 1970 all 4 conference championship teams finished the regular season on winning streaks of 4+ games
TheKanataThrilla (20h) : Salt mine. Love it.
TheKanataThrilla (20h) : The refs kept that game close. We should have blown them out early.
DarkaneRules (21h) : Hyde and Gunter are special and I'm hopeful D Ran gets back to where he can be
mi_keys (21h) : That whole forum is a salt mine. It's beautiful.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Burnett's back up, Kentrell Brice lead team in tackles.

uffda udfa (16-Jan) : Great news.
Zero2Cool (16-Jan) : Jordy has "legitimate hope" to play, per @RobDemovsky.
Zero2Cool (16-Jan) : Packers had one call on defense if called, no issue, wans't called. I didn't watch OL so dunno. I watched WR's
Zero2Cool (16-Jan) : Dallas OL had some holds weren't called and 2 defensive holds, not called.
uffda udfa (16-Jan) : I think the Pi vs just a holding call is a legit complaint. Terrible call.
GoPack1984 (16-Jan) : Dallas can't complain about the officials. They got away with so many defensive holding calls.
