I am not talking about physical toughness in regards to Cutler.. I am talking exclusively about mental toughness. I think, based on what I have seen of it on the football field, to lack it on said football field.

He rattles easily.. he talks with confidence but he plays with self doubt on the field.

Survives when things are going his way, but struggles mightily when things are difficult.

On the football field.. he will always be his worst enemy mentally. You can see it in his body language.

I wasn't quite sure because you labeled him with McNabb, who I actually think is somewhat soft from a physical standpoint as well as mental. But I couldn't agree more with your assessment on Cutler. It is spot on.

I don't know Jay Cutler.

1. I don't like him because he's a Bear.

2. He's a quarterback. So I assume he's an asshole until shown otherwise.

3. Despite #1 and #2, I find myself identifying with him, for several reasons:
a. He's lousy at eye contact. So am I.
b. He gets judged negatively for this. So do I.
c. He's a diabetic. So am I.
d. He doesn't seem to have much time for doing things because "everyone who does what he does for a living does them". Neither do I.
e. He fucks up a lot. So do I.

Frankly, there aren't many non-Packers in the NFL, especially at the QB position, who I'd be interested in talking with and seeing how they really think. And, frankly, if they weren't Packers, there probably aren't many Packers I'd be interested in talking with either.

But I think Cutler might be interesting to spend some time chatting over good food and whisky sometime. He might just be another asshole quarterback/NFL player. But something tells me he's a thinking contrarian.

And so, ahem, am I.

So count me a provisional fan of Cutler the man.

Sue me.

Million dollar arm and a 10 cent head.

Seriously, he looks like he has Asperger syndrome. A milder form of Autism. If something is not what he expects it to be, he has trouble adjusting.

That would also fit with the lack of eye contact. (I have a problem with that if they stand within arms reach. Farsighted.) And the complete lack of social skills.

I got this from Wikipedia.

The lack of demonstrated empathy is possibly the most dysfunctional aspect of Asperger syndrome.[4] Individuals with AS experience difficulties in basic elements of social interaction, which may include a failure to develop friendships or to seek shared enjoyments or achievements with others (for example, showing others objects of interest), a lack of social or emotional reciprocity, and impaired nonverbal behaviors in areas such as eye contact, facial expression, posture, and gesture.[3]

Cutler is no softy. You don't go soft playing behind Chicago's offensive line and playing QB for Vanderbilt in the SEC. He is, however, the most reckless passer in the league today.

Exactly.

Put any QB behind that joke of an OL with Martz's system (that gets QBs killed) and see how well they fare.

I think Cutler is for a starting NFL QB just about average. If I had to rank starting QBs, I'd put him near the middle.

One thing I won't do is call him a softie. I watched him take 9 QB sacks in one half before getting knocked out of the game. People who don't really study football don't understand that it's the system that's bad, not the QB (in this specific case). da Bears need a solid OL and better route running WRs. They don't have either. Until then, their O will suck unless they change Offensive Coordinators.

Thanks again Jay for displaying yourself on the national stage.

Credit though.. at least you didn't pull up at the half. No knee issues this round.

Hey Jay.. Good Luck.

See you later this season.

I think the Packers should hire a few bodyguards to make sure he's safe between games. Maybe wrap him up tight in bubble wrap too.

Exactly.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Zombieslayer LOVES Jay Cutler. He always throws some of his passes to his team, and shares some of his passes with us. He seems to like us just as much as he likes his own team. And I love him for that.

Great guy, Jay Cutler. May he play for da Bears another 10 years. I'll continue rooting for him. Go Jay Cutler go!

I see no reason to change anything I said last year.

uffda udfa (11m) : It's just true. I try hard to see it and tell it like it is. Was OPI.
Zero2Cool (2h) : which is of course ok, i just personally see it as weird.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Just odd that a Packers fan points out when Packers perceived to get away with something, yet ignore opponent. Weird.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Packers added RB Christine Michael (back) to the injury report as questionable
uffda udfa (3h) : Not diminishing anything. He got away with OPI. Didn't notice before. Was in airport.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Bahahahahahahha GO PACK GO!!!!
Zero2Cool (5h) : when you're buying your Super Bowl LI Champion gear, be critical of that too!
Zero2Cool (5h) : keep trying to diminish what the Packers have done and ...
Zero2Cool (5h) : one... that's just how it goes. They let the players play. But go ahead
Zero2Cool (5h) : Everyone knows on the hail mary type passes, those little shoves won't be called. Think replacement refs 2012. So, no did not get away with
Dulak (5h) : ya I think they mentioned that U U ... but you see this alot - even in the dallas game they pushed off at least 1 time (they as in dallas)
uffda udfa (12h) : Just rewatched Cobbs hail mary catch in slo mo...he should've been flagged for OPI. Got away with one.
uffda udfa (14h) : Nope. I like Gus.
beast (15h) : Did you want Anthony Lynn as HC? Cushion Bradley was going to follow Lynn where ever.
uffda udfa (15h) : Gus Bradley is new DC in SD/LA. I would've loved to had him here in Green Bay.
uffda udfa (19h) : It's just fine.
musccy (20h) : 5 questionable Packers, none for Falcons. Not good.
uffda udfa (20h) : Jordy not listed as OUT or DOUBTFUL. Questionable on injury report.
uffda udfa (21h) : This is the 6th straight game we've faced someone for the 2nd time. We learn.
uffda udfa (21h) : Aaron: I like our role. I like our chances. (said he relishes being an underdog)
uffda udfa (21h) : Aaron alludes to fake crowd noise at Georgia Dome for Sunday.
uffda udfa (22h) : So, to recap. Losing streak "just the way it is", winning streak "astronomical feat". #Balanced
uffda udfa (22h) : Ironically, he called the turn around "astronomical" not just the way it is in the NFL. #Don'tMissTheIrony
uffda udfa (22h) : Ted tells Demovsky the Packers weren't underachieving when 4-6. Just the way it is in the NFL????
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Only time I recall getting annoyed is when they beat a single topic over and over and over.
Pack93z (20-Jan) : Most yes... Heller seems to get it more so... diversity in his coverage... but seemingly can highlight the pressing issues properly.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : I'm kind of in the boat that they all are babblying boonies.
Pack93z (20-Jan) : God bless it... Bill Michaels can be a stubborn SOB at times... love his Packers coverage, still think he is a buffoon at times.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Jordy Nelson Named PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Carter is predicitng the end is in ATL for Packers.
Porforis (20-Jan) : Or I could just completely miss the part where that was Cris Carter.
Porforis (20-Jan) : Careful there. Don't you want to predict a Packers loss just in case?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : @criscarter80 :Every fairy tale comes to an end, and this is where the magic carpet ride stops in the ATL.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : McCarthy: "JC Tretter actually had surgery Tuesday. He won't be available this week"
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Crosby is fine now. Full Participant in practice Thursday
