homer and thunder just let all of wisconsin know that the commish DOES have the power to overturn a game

Agreed. I can't see that power ever being used except in the case of something many factors more obvious and severe than this. Such as a ball being passed, clearly bouncing off the ground a couple times a yard away from someone, the WR picking it up and it being ruled a TD. Or in a situation like this game, if one of the refs were found to have bet against the Packers and there was other evidence of intentional discrimination. That is a huge can of worms to open, as sick as this game makes me, I don't blame the commish for not opening it (presumably).

he wont use it..

it would undermine his position. which i would imagine he holds higher than any one game.

Goodell's a coward. He won't overturn it.

Here's another thing.

That's why you knock the ball down in that situation. You don't go for the INT.

The officials: Elliott (d2), Rhone-Dunn (Big 12), Harrod (D2, arena), Easley (Calif. HS/JC), Simmons (TX HS), Peek (TX HS). Easley blew call

easley is a highschool / juco ref

his call overruled the ref who ruled it a touchback.

There is a point bigger than this: the booth review, which was done by a full-time veteran NFL employee, up-held the play call. I really, really want to hear the justification for the call being upheld by Howard Slavin, someone who is NOT a replacement ref but a permanent NFL employee that made the decision on the booth review.

I'm sure that worked for Tennessee on Sunday vs. Detroit.

I believe possession is not reviewable. Therefore, the call stood because the call on the field was simultaneous possession. In other words, the official should never have gone under the hood in the first place. The booth reviewer probably realized this error and knew the play had to be upheld.

As a scoring play, it would have to be reviewed.

He has the power to do it, but he's way too afraid. IF only he had a set of balls and actually cared more about the game and less about his wallet.
