I hate it when people refer to helmets as hats.

Pfft! I hate it when people don't give deference to the prior poster's metaphoric choice.

Big Grin

None of the above. It wouldn't have been a wasted vote. Obama and Romney -- Those were the wasted votes.

Did you put a hat on your helmet when you were a youngin, or was that pre 60's and the prolification of STD's?

Who cares about STDs from the 60s? You got a shot of penicillin and bam!, you're cured.

Nowadays, STDs are a serious matter.

Ooo...now *that* was a nasty thing to say.

Just because I like lutefisk doesn't make me a purple pimple.

How about Lids? That acceptable? Weeeee!! Big Grin

Through camps around the Midwest, that was probably the most common reference I remember other than Helmets.

That should be the NFL team that LA gets - the Los Angeles STDs. Would scare anyone. I don't care how tough you are.

Of course, LA wouldn't get a football team. They wouldn't know what to do with a football. I used to play catch with my son in the park in the LA suburbs and people would be dumbfounded. They'd ask to join and I'd throw the football at them and their plastic surgery will fall off. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Amazing. The 2nd biggest city in the United States of America doesn't have a sports team in the country's biggest sport.

Yes, the Los Angeles STDs. That would be a good team nickname when they finally get a football team in 2046. That is, if that city isn't wiped off the map after the zombie plague. I don't foresee a single survivor from that city when the plague hits.

I always thought lid referred to (i) something one took off a pickle jar or (ii) a quantity of an illicit substance?
