JSOQuote:Either way, this is the healthiest Neal has been in three years and he did finish training camp strong. The Packers could use another pass rusher in their defensive line rotation.
"I can say that without lying or trying to sugarcoat anything," he said. "It’s the best I’ve felt in three years. So I’m going to let that carry out."
So, what's the over/under on how long it will take Neal to get hurt? 5 weeks?
Wanna start a pool?

I remember back a few years, that the question was. How long before Rodgers gets hurt.

Neal has a one week roster exemption, I hope that they have confidence before the lay waste to another player from the roster.
Not guessing on the number of games.. because just as Merling, the guy is probably on his last real chance in the show.

Which was stupid from the get go and is completely different than this. Aaron Rodgers played an entire half of professional football with a broken bone in his foot. The only other injury he had prior to him starting was a hamstring injury that his position coach, the offensive coordinator and the head coach ALL said if he were the starter, he'd have played the next week.
Because of those two injuries, suddenly he was made of glass.
This is Mike Neal's third season and he's played in 9 out of 32 possible regular season games due to injury.

If it doesn't work out for Neal maybe he and Justin Harrell could pool their millions can start a sports therapy clinic.

Well there was that, plus the fact that in 2009 he(they) led the league in sacks taken. Remember that sack counter? Any QB that takes that many hits can be considered a health risk. Even these days he takes more shots than other QB's, so its not entirely unreasonable. Since he became a starter he has averaged about 2.5 sacks per game.
I never bought into the "injury prone" thing, but that year of horrible Oline play had to make you wonder if he was going to get "David Carr'd".
In retrospect taking all those hits has shown how tough he really is more than anything.

Giving up on Neal is silly. The brief time we saw him in 2010 he creative very big pressure up the middle. We lack the push up the middle aside from the odd time Raji gets one on one or Worthy gets through.

Neal was easily the DE that impressed me most in training camp / pre-season. Hope that translates!

You are correct sir.
PFTQuote:The Packers confirmed today that they have activated Neal from the reserve/suspended list to the 53-man roster, and to make room for Neal on the roster they’ve cut Merling.

I'm excited for him. I reserved calling the guy a bust like a lot of you have. Seems like he's had some freaky injuries and bad luck. Let's hope he can become a beast, cause we need it. I'm really liking the talent assembled on the D-line.
