At this time I am happy with Benson getting the overwhelming share of carries. That said if Starks and Green got 1-2 carries a game and Saine was inactive that would be fine. After 3-4 weeks if any of them averaged less than 4 yards a carry their playing time should be cut and those few carries given to whoever was making the most of their time on the field.

Quote:
The burst is finally back for James Starks, but two months too late to seize the starting job in the Packers’ backfield.

Following Ryan Grant’s offseason departure, the door was open for the third-year running back to seize the starting running back role until he suffered a turf toe injury on the second offensive play of the team’s preseason opener against San Diego on Aug. 9.

Starks continued playing and didn’t feel the full extent of the injury until the plane ride home. Three days later, the Packers signed veteran Cedric Benson, who’s developed into the team’s every-down back and averaging 16 carries per game through the first four games.

....

“I’m anxious just to get another carry out there and play and see what I can do,” Starks said. “See how it feels to get contact with another team, break some tackles, help my team win a little bit, but at the same time, I’m getting better. I’m getting better with everything and helping them get better too. That’s my job, I have to take pride in that, and do what I can to make this team better as a whole.”

Nice to have some depth at the position.

Maybe Green and Starks can learn from the veteran. For instance, how to hit the hole.

No Starks. Stay on the bench for at least one more week. I'm starting Benson this week.

Nothing personal Starks. Just fantasy.

I would rather see him do well and not run the wheels off CB before we reach mid-season. Nothing personal, just no fantasy team and dedicated packer fan Tongue

Glad he's healthy again, but we need to keep riding Benson as long as he's healthy and putting up decent number even if his YPA is just average at best. If Benson gets nicked up, Starks will get plenty of opportunities.

I don't understand this part? Run the Wheels off Benson, he is getting what 16 carries a game is running the wheels off. Damn Lynch AP and MJD are done for the year then lol.

You're probably smart by not playing fantasy. Geez, it's a time sync.

If we do run CB's wheels off, we got Starks & Green. Starks really stepped up in the post season in 2010.

Benson is the best pick up the Packers have had in years. He is solid...hopefully he stays out of personal problems as he's had elsewhere. Maybe he's grown up.

Zero2Cool (1h) : Why not
hardrocker950 (10h) : Just wonderful - my pick em didn't register....
beast (19h) : I'm not sure if it's still true, but it used to be hard to get sacks on Eli because he'd toss one up when linemen got semi-close (which lead
Zero2Cool (20h) : Slam Eli a lot very early. Once rattled he can't regain composure.
beast (20h) : since slot WRs might be the Packers strength depth/talent wise
beast (20h) : With AR's passing % down field so low, I've been saying they should go with short passes like the Pats used to do, especially since slot WRs
beast (20h) : What's going to be needed against the Giants is OL and DBs (IMO)
Smokey (28-Sep) : Cook(TE) has time to heal, but may not be needed against NYG on Oct 9th .
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : . Aaron Rodgers has a completion percentage of 33.3 on 10+ air yard passes this season (tied for the lowest in NFL).
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : High-ankle sprain could sideline Cook
Zero2Cool (26-Sep) : Odell Beckham Jr, Dez Bryant, Alshon Jeffery and Julio Jones on tap for Packers. Yippie.
Cheesey (26-Sep) : Arnold Palmer was a class act all around. RIP
Smokey (26-Sep) : Rest in Peace Arnold Palmer, you blessed us all .
hardrocker950 (26-Sep) : What a strange weekend of football
jdlax (26-Sep) : What's up, friends? It's like bizzaro world right now trailing the Vikings. Blah.
GoPack1984 (25-Sep) : Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 6 interceptions!
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Cleveland loses.
The_Green_Ninja (25-Sep) : I swear, Jacksonville's hot weather must be a huge advantage. Kept it super close with the Ravens
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Su'a Cravens with a big INT. A guy I wanted.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Can Cleveland win?
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : T.J. Lang said after one of Aaron Rodgers' TD passes the Packers quarterback head-butted Lang in excitement and said "I'm back."
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Terrelle Pryor could see snaps at quarterback

Mucky Tundra (25-Sep) : GET HYPE
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Packers aim to showcase speed of Ty Montgomery, Trevor Davis
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : CB Quinten Rollins will start for Shields. Micah Hyde for Burnett. Julius Peppers for Matthews. Kenny Clark for Guion.
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Probably will not be on the top of the Pick'Em leaderboard after today, soaking it in beforehand
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Foosball!

The_Green_Ninja (24-Sep) : Big whoop, we have Aaron. We are going to win. H8ers.
Zero2Cool (24-Sep) : Matthews, Burnett out; Guion, Jones doubtful
